US President George W. Bush said Thursday it will "take some time" for Iraqi forces to crush Shiite militias but expressed confidence that they would ultimately prevail.

"This operation is going to take some time to complete," Bush said, adding that ultimately "terrorists and extremists in Iraq will know they have no place in a free and democratic society."

The US leader also said that "normalcy is returning to Iraq."

2. Never mind that we're now fully immersed in Iraq's CIVIL WAR.
Because they are fighting themselves, finally. After all this time. Of shooting at and bombing each other.

5. Bush lauds Iraqi security, political gains
DAYTON, Ohio, March 27 (UPI) -- The surge in U.S. troops deployed to Iraq not only improved the country's security, but also its economic and politics outlook, President Bush said Thursday.

"The progress isn't glamorous, but it is important," Bush said during a speech at the U.S. Air Force museum in Dayton, Ohio.

The surge did what it was supposed to do: improve security conditions and offer breathing room for political and economic progress once security was achieved.

The Iraqi security force is growing in its capability, he said. Pointing to the "tough battle" in Basra, Bush said Iraqi military leaders planned and are leading the operation.

8. Normalcy?
Blowing up oil pipelines is normalcy? I guess so if you like the price oil to go up. The man is insane. What happens to evil people. The evil overtakes them and they go insane. Happened to Hitler. It seems to be a genetic disorder, however, with the Bushes.

Our Congress, Nancy Pelosi in particular, is complicit at this point in both the evil and the insanity. Our Congress has incredible power given it by the Constitution. Madame Speaker has put perceived political advantage ahead of what simply is in the best interest of the American people. We simply no longer matter. We are no longer a democracy.

If she truly believed in the Constitution, she would shut the government down if need be to put a stop to the insanity. Iraq will fall eventually to Shi'ite fundamentalism just as Iran did. History will record both as a result of the policy, and the oligarchist agenda, of the Bushes.

10. The more he talks, the worse he looks. Reality bites him in the butt again.
Which is all for the good. The juxtaposition of "we've everything under control" with news media showing pictures of Convention Center people after Katrina hurt him a lot. Repeating "all is well in Iraq" while news media shows pictures of it not being so will also work to hurt the repubs. This in no way means I am glad in any way that it is chaos there, but I am glad mrbush continues to talk his bs.

14. There's that word again "normalcy". Sabre, remember when talked about how
Bush is trying to make a lot of things seem "normal"

Eroding rights, detentions, round-ups, etc....normal in a democracy
certain level of violence...normal and the level varies

to be getting just a bit warmer.
