Gore: Cheney and global warming doubters are almost like those who thought earth was flat
Source: USA Today

Al Gore will be on CBS-TV's 60 Minutes this Sunday night to talk about global warming and what is set to be a $300 million TV ad campaign to raise awareness about it.

According to CBS, when correspondent Lesley Stahl says to the former vice president and 2000 Democratic presidential nominee that some prominent leaders aren't convinced that humans are contributing to the problem, Gore says:

"You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat. ... That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off."

CBS ends its press release about the show with a very transparent tease: "Stahl also asks Gore, an uncommitted super delegate of the Democratic Party, who he supports for his party's nomination."

AND? WHAT DID HE SAY?

We tried to get CBS to tell us more. But they're holding on to that news until Sunday at 7 p.m ET. If he sticks with what he's said before, though, Gore won't commit to either Barack Obama or Hillary Rodham Clinton.

5. Granted, much of it is r-w propaganda to avoid coming to terms with burning fossil fuels . ..
but a lot of it are dummies who believe the r-w ---

Meanwhile, we waste a lot of time with these folks ---
and somehow . . . they get to call the shots --- !!!

11. Sounds Galilean to me
Voices of opposition are not only useful but necessary for the advance of science. Demonization of those with different views is about as antiscientific as it gets.

Good ideas rise to the top eventually in science. Suppression of discourse only prolongs the process. The history of plate tectonics theory provides a useful positive example. The history of eugenics provides an equally useful negative example.
