Baghdad curfew extended as fighting rages on
Source: CNN

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- U.S. and coalition troops lent more firepower Saturday to Iraqi military and police forces battling Shiite militants in southern Iraq and Baghdad, and the unrest prompted officials to extend a curfew in the capital.

...snip...

Late Saturday, Iraqi officials indefinitely extended the curfew in Baghdad that was imposed Thursday in an effort to quell the violence. The curfew had been set to end Sunday morning.

One of al-Sadr's aides said the cleric has asked Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to leave Basra and let tribal leaders and political parties resolve the security problems through peaceful dialogue.

Al-Maliki, who is personally overseeing operations in the southern city, met Saturday in Basra with the area's leaders, who have expressed support for the government's efforts to "impose law and save Basra from criminal gangs," according to a written statement from the prime minister's office.

1. The United States in Iraq is over.
That seems to be the vibe I'm getting from these latest reports. We've been tolerated up to now, but what the future holds....?

2. A Cruel War Time Tactic
Curfews are a very cruel measure for an occupying force to use. Everything that moves after a certain time becomes a target. It is a very brutal method of instilling terror and having a cloak of legality as said occupying force murders all fighting-aged males, no matter if they indeed were out meaning harm or a love-stuck teenager running late.

Acts of cruelty are increasing both there and here. Authorities across the board are taking every advantage of relaxed rules and using enhanced methods of detention and incidents of extortion for money and sex, illegal strip-searches and brutality are on the rise. We did not have to wait long to fight them here instead of there for they've been here all along.

Time is here.

If not you? Who?

If not now? When?

I fear this month an attack on Iran - certainly way before election time. But this month smells right. With all bush&co. have gotten away with, stolen elections, 9/11, treason, genocide, terrorism, just to name a few, why, after ignoring all intelligence reports to the contrary, with resignation of Fallon, Be-tray-us, cheney, bush and all "the usual suspects" ratcheting up war talk and doing more than rattling sabers. Nukes have been placed in range. Why should they wait? cheney already has given us his "So"?

So what we're killing innocent people for profit? So you should have had stock in Halliburton, like cheney did and along with that son or daughter you sacrificed for cheney's profit you could have made some money too.

And if you think they made money off Iraq - wait till you see what kind of money can be made in turning the entire world into a Police State - and yes folks, they have the power and means to do this virtually overnight and attacking Iran now would hasten that intent vastly.

The child-king on March 20th signed the "Guidance to Financial Institutions on the Continuing Money Laundering Threat Involving Illicit Iranian Activity," basically declaring any banking institution doing business with Iran to be part of a conspiracy in an attempt in shutting down Iran's economy. It's a declaration of war and it happened behind closed doors. What do you think is going to happen next? How long before push comes to shove? What kind of deals was cheney making? Why is Saudi-Arabia's leading newspaper say government is taking steps to protect citizens from possible nuclear fall-out? It's a mad-house, filled with insane people and no one is even talking about stopping them.

So?

If not you? Who?

If not now? When?

Every effort, breath, we take right now must be to stop any attack on Iran! I may already be too late. And I'm not so sure even contacting are so-called representatives means shit-to-a-tree, do it, and do it with gusto, but these parasites don't even read the bills they sign so it's no wonder they don't listen to us? Yet we must stop this attack or curfews will be placed that are just a severe here. And don't tell me it can't happen - it already has. I'm a Katrina survivor.

But it's time folks. It's been time for a long time, but this time may ever well be the last and we can't count on anyone but ourselves now.

If not you? Who?

If not now? When?
