(Rev) Wright honored in Chicago
Source: CNN/AP

CHICAGO (AP) — Thousands have gathered at a Chicago church to honor the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the former pastor who's been at the center of a media storm since snippets of his sermons showed him denouncing America for allegedly racist and genocidal acts.

Wright was honored at Trinity United Church of Christ, where he still serves as senior pastor. Barack Obama is a member of that church. After Wright's comments, Obama sharply condemned some of the remarks but didn't leave the church or repudidate the minister himself.

At last night's ceremony, friends and colleagues called Wright a hero who has "fought the fight." He didn't speak during the
two-hour service. He hasn't spoken publicly since the controversy over his sermons started.

1. Yes, indeedy. He was a Marine.
While civilians like Martin Luther King, Jr. marched for civil rights, Wright marched to a martial drummer. But I'm sure he caught up later.

4. Are all black people that did not march with Doctor King
now deemed to be unworthy?

I hope not, because Although my heart and support was there I physically did not make any of the marches either.

What can I do to catch up?

6. Instead of just soaking in adulation at the TUCC ceremony, Pastor Wright should have...

...used the opportunity to publicly disavow the distorted views and statements which Barack Obama has indicated that Wright now acknowledges as offensive and inappropriate.
