South Floridian will resign as head of FEMA
Source: Miami Herald

ORLANDO --
After more than two years on the hot seat, South Floridian R. David Paulison plans to resign as director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Paulison, a former Miami-Dade fire chief and current resident of Davie, said his departure could come within weeks or months, possibly during the hurricane season and definitely by January.

''It's a tough job,'' Paulison, 61, said Wednesday during a roundtable discussion with several reporters at the National Hurricane Conference. ``There's a lot of stress on you and your family.
``I'll stay as long as I can. I'm here for now, but sometime between now and Jan. 20, I'll be leaving.''

He said he plans to resign regardless of who takes over the White House on that date.
Paulison took control of FEMA in September 2005 after the agency and its then chief, Michael Brown, came under heavy criticism for their performance in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

1. If the Government were on fire
they could not more passionately wish to leave it. Are they all trying to get out before the smoke clears and we learn just what they've all been up too?

Are Americans too cynical, John McCain? No, we haven't been cynical enough!

3. Yep, they jumping off the ship
"A top aide, assistant administrator Carlos Castillo, a former Miami-Dade emergency director, told The Miami Herald he also plans to resign from FEMA within months. Castillo, 47, joined Paulison in Washington less than a year ago."

8. Was mostly a middle management issue at Station2. Paulison requested the IRP investigation himself

which was in itself unprecedented. No county official has ever asked to investigate it's own department. Never heard that Paulison actually covered it up. The way it was reported in the Miami Times, a very liberal publication, dismissed a cover up. Known for its edgy reporting, had there been a cover-up the Times would have run with it surely

5. Typically, resignations are common
about 9 months before a change of administration.
Folks want to land new jobs before the change over.

In the Bush regime, however, seems a whole slew of folks are desirous of that good ole family quality time, all of sudden...then we hear about the indictments.

Spending more time with the family--yeah, right! All they're doing is major league CYA when the handwriting on the wall is there! They have an Enron party in their office, sell the house, pack up the kids and everything they have in their Mcmansion, and haul ass out of town or out of the US. Well, since this guy worked for FEMA I don't blame him for leaving.
