Prensa latinaHavana, Apr 10 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivarian Alternative for Peoples of the Americas (ALBA) opened a branch bank in Cuba, first outside Venezuela, mass media reported Thursday.
According to a "Granma" newspaper note from the Cuban Central Bank (BCC), the institution will be implemented in early May after Working Commissions meetings over the next 30 days.
The opening on Wednesday coincided with a two-day meeting held in this capital of the Technical Commission and the Bank of the ALBA Ministerial Council, aimed at signing the bylaws of the entity, which will have an initial capital of $1 billion.
Venezuelan Finance Minister Rafael Isea, Nicaraguan Treasury minister Alberto Guevara, Bolivian ambassador to Havana Saul Chavez and BCC president-minister Francisco Soberon attended the gathering.
