Lawmaker lobbies for bill to impeach Bush

CONCORD, N.H.—To boost her campaign for a bill that would call for the impeachment of President Bush over the Iraq war, an 87-year-old great-grandmother drummed up support Monday from the whistleblower who leaked secret Pentagon documents during the Vietnam War.

It's unlikely that HR24 would pass, but Betty Hall, a Democrat and longtime representative from Brookline, is hopeful. Hall is the only sponsor of the bill, which is scheduled for debate on Wednesday.

"We are trying to make history by being the first Legislature to forward a petition to Congress under Section 603 of the Jefferson Manual," she said. "I'm feeling very good about it."

Hall was referring to the "Manual of Parliamentary Practice for the Use of the Senate of the United States," written by President Thomas Jefferson in 1801.

In 2004, Hall was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after she wouldn't move away from a Nashua motorcade Bush was scheduled to drive by. The case was later dismissed when a judge ruled the evidence didn't fit the charge.

Remember that Five years ago, immediately after Commander AWOL proclaimed the boldface lie "mission accomplished" the spectacular, famed, noble Old Man of the Mountain 'lost face' and committed ritual suicide by crumbling to dust because he could no longer abide the lies & malfeasance of Commander AWOL Bush and the cabal of republicon homelanders...

First this propaganda farce:

Then immediately afterward, for the sake of NH's and America's honor,
the Ritual Suicide of the Old Man of the Mountain:

Live Free or Die - like the Old Man of the Mountain.

You are absolutely correct!! Now will anybody join with me and demand that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid be included in any war crime trials. They are criminal enablers, they do not get to pick and choose which crimes against the constitution to ignore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6. H8, under the Military Commission Act 2006, Bush and Co. pretty much have immunity for war crimes in
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 12:20 PM by ToughLuck
the United States, not sure about Pelosi. An interesting read about the subject of war crimes and Bush administration is in VanityFair, online free..article is called..The Green Light"...speaks to the issue of torture, and possible charges of war crimes out side the US they have no immunity.

I have emailed other Senior Democratic members suggesting Pelosi be made to step down, Reid too...I have never received a response that speaks directly to that issue..just responses that skirt around it.

22. I'm thinking that they at least have that fear.

But International Courts aren't likely to be that bold unless there is a considerable decline in US power-- which ironically, the Administration might have made inevitable.

At the very least, I think if it's inclined, Congress could deprive Bush from his presidential pension, and all other fringe benefits an ex-president gets.

25. Correction
The "little old lady from Brookline" is Betty Hall, sponsor of the HR24 resolution. Granny D is another person altogether. Both are awesome.

26. Thanks for the links, but
I'm not sure what it is you're attempting to correct. I had never even heard of Granny D until you mentioned her in your reply although I must admit she sounds like quite a person. Are you saying that Granny D, currently age 94, is actually the 87 year-old campaigning for the bill and that Hall is merely the bill's lone legislative sponsor? I suppose the story could be interpreted that way although the boston.com linked article provided by the OP makes no mention of a Granny D. Either I'm confused or you are.

24. New Hampshire
First Primary to select a President, first state to vote for impeachment to remove a president (hopefully).

Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men;

therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government.

The doctrine of non resistance against arbitrary power and repression, is absurd, slavish and destructive of the good of all mankind.

Art.10, Right of Resistance
New Hampshire, Bill of Rights
June 2, 1784, never modified
