Pope to end U.S. visit with Ground Zero blessing
Source: Ruiters

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Pope Benedict will visit Ground Zero in New York on Sunday to offer a blessing and meet rescue workers, survivors and those who lost loved ones in the September 11 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.

At the end of his six-day trip to the United States, the German-born pontiff will also celebrate an outdoor Mass at Yankee Stadium, home of the New York Yankees baseball team.

The visit to Ground Zero, once site of the World Trade Center and now a crater where new buildings and a memorial will be built, is expected to be the emotional high point of the pontiff's six-day U.S. trip that started in Washington.

At the site -- considered hallowed ground by many who lost relatives in the al Qaeda attacks in September 2001 -- Benedict will pray for the conversion to love "of those whose hearts and minds are consumed with hatred." ...

2. Fat Lot of Good That Will Do
A massive exorcism of Washington DC or a burning bush would be more effective....

5. I just wish he'd leave so I could get my news channels back.
The cable news media, with their one-at-a-time approach to covering news stories, has been solid Pope, Pope, Pope, Pope, Pope, Pope, Pope, Pope for days. Every time I turn on CNN or MSNBC, it's Pope, Pope, Pope.

3 AM? Pope. Noon? Pope. Dinnertime news? Pope. All right already!! Sheesh.

6. The wall-to-wall Mass coverage is getting a bit much.
Warning: One more round this afternoon when he's at Yankee Stadium.

When does he go home? Tomorrow?

We deal with an intolerant a-hole, so we turn around and lump all people of that group and show them no respect, thereby continuing the circle. Sorry, but I will be the bigger person and break this specific circle.

17. Look A hole, I went to Catholic school in the 50's for.........
.....eight years (luckily that was all)and I still get the creeps today because of it. Sure there are nice people that are Catholics, but I imagine there were "good" Nazis' too. All religions are a huge bullshit scheme on the "masses" (to paraphrase a philosopher).

9. Sending blessings over Ground Zero is a Good Thing.
I'm not big on the Pope but I'm glad that he is doing this. It would be mighty welcome if more spiritual leaders could do the same.

14. The Pope blessing the dead? With applauding Jesuits in the wings?
The Pope is probably capturing souls who linger. Doesnt look good. These guys are Occultists. Demonologists.

Spiritual Leaders? There aren't any. If there were, we'de have heard from them and we would have seen more resistance against the UN, WTO, WHO IMF..etc. The Vatican owns most of the world, why should they bring that to your attention, when you believe in their fairy tales.

From which arose all those yellow ribbons and "pride bumperstickers", purged Cleveland city voter lists and Swift Boat attack ads.
