Obama Strikes Fundraising Deal with D.N.C.
Source: ABC News

ABC News' Teddy Davis Reports: To help boost the Democratic Party's coffers, Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., campaign and the Democratic National Committee (D.N.C.) are establishing a “joint fundraising agreement" which can raise up to $28,500 from individuals, most of which would go to the DNC.

"In regards to the D.N.C. and the joint fundraising agreement, it is something that we are moving forward with," said Obama deputy campaign manager Steve Hildebrand on a Friday conference call with reporters. "As we understand it, the D.N.C. has initiated those conversations with the Clinton campaign as well."

An adviser to Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., tells ABC News that the D.N.C. was scheduled to discuss a Clinton-DNC fundraising deal with Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams on Monday, April 21.

The Clinton adviser notes, however, that the D.N.C. is further down the road with Obama.

Take backs and conditions. Absolutely zero concern about downticket dems, or fighting McSame.

3. Remember the meeting where Hillary donors attacked Dean?
http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/1970

That was the meeting to get this effort started.

Hillary's folks turned it into FL and MI, Dean took a stand...and they left in a huff.

7. To her credit, she has agreed to continue to support the 50-state strategy if elected
Both candidates have signed on to that in an agreement with the State Party Chairs.

8. Yeah, but...
"it's clear that this vote in Michigan is not going to count for anything."

No one can trust her word. If elected, the 50-state strategy is as dead as...Howard Dean.

14. I wouldn't be so sure
It was never Howard Dean's idea in the first place. The State Party Chairs asked it (demanded it) of all the candidates for DNC Chair before giving their endorsement. I wouldn't give up on the State Chairs demanding it of the next President either.

16. It's good that she has you to confide in.
And how wonderful that you know her thoughts, her dreams, and where her heart lies.

Or maybe you're just making it up to fit your agenda.

6. I'm sure Hillary will be fair about this--as long as Barack will share his surplus
with the DNC, Hillary will certainly share her debt with the DNC.

9. Yep. And that's about the only thing she's willing to share.
What a shame.

10. DNC?
The DNC? What a traitor he is.
The DNC is the enemy. Doesn't he read DU? Now he's done. No one will vote for him.

12. You may be referring to the "DLC"
The DNC is run by one of the good guys, Howard Dean.

13. You are mixing up your acronyms.
You are mixing up your acronyms. Go to the Democratic Party Website:

http://www.democrats.org/index.html

and you will find the message, "Paid for by the Democratic National Committee — 430 S. Capitol St. SE, Washington DC."

The DNC is most definitely NOT the enemy, especially not with Howard Dean at the helm.

I believe that your snark was aimed (poorly) at the "DLC," or Democratic Leadership Council. These are the corporatist slimeballs who were busy openly cozying up to the neocons during 2001-2003 (and secretly cozy-up still). Don't worry, these Republicon-Lite DLC'ers are still solidly pro-Hillary.
