5 U.S. Troops, 4 Iraqis Killed in Attacks
Source: Associated Press
Publication date: 2004-01-24

Bomb attacks in central Iraqi towns killed five American soldiers and four Iraqis on Saturday, a day after two U.N. security experts arrived in the capital to study the possible return of the world body's international staff.
The deadliest attack took place in Khaldiyah, west of the capital, where a four-wheel-drive vehicle rigged with explosives drove up to a U.S. checkpoint at a bridge and detonated, a witness said. The U.S. military said three American soldiers were killed in the attack. Six soldiers and several Iraqi civilians were wounded, the military said.

About 20 miles away, near the town of Fallujah, a roadside bomb went off as a U.S. convoy passed, killing two soldiers.

The latest deaths brought to 512 the number of American service members who have died since the United States and its allies launched the Iraq war March 20.

7. "BRING EM ON",cried the AWOL CHIMPANZEE
and "BRING IT ON", the Resistance did.

"OH MY GOD"' cried the NEW Gold Star Mother--"My Son is DEAD".

"He died for Halliburton", reflected the Wall Street stock trader.

"He died for NOTHING", grumbled the disabled Viet-Nam vet.

"Where's our car", asked the little girl whose father was killed.

"It was repossessed by the Bank", sobbed her mother.

"The President cut our survivor's benefits". she cried.

"Get in Step YOU MAGGOTS", shouted the drill Sergeant.

"You have some RAGHEADS to kill"

"Where have all the flowers Gone?"
"Where have all the soldiers gone?"
"Gone to graveyards every one"
"When will they ever learn?"

Wept Saigon on a cold Saturday night in Green Bay Wisconsin.

Rest in Peace men and women.

The Resistance really doesn't like the thoughts of Egg McMuffins for breakfast--- And the smilly faced price cut guy at Wally World coming to their town in the very near future.

3. It is getting difficult to determine which of these stories
is "new" or "old." They just keep on coming: one death or maiming after another.

6. Before the war...
I kinda assumed that Baghdad didn't gave very many tall buildings. I sort of thought it would look like those pictures of Cairo I've seen. I was really surprised to see all the skyscrapers in that city during a report just before the fighting started. I said two words when I saw that... "sniper's paradise". I guess I was wrong overall, as the fight for Baghdad didn't last more than a few days. But still, it would be really hard to catch a sniper hiding in a 25 story building.
