Dean back in dead heat with Kerry (Battle Cry- "Scream for Dean")
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/ID/4060197/

...The three-day rolling average has Kerry with 31 percent to Dean’s 28 percent in New Hampshire’s Democratic primary on Tuesday, cutting four points from Kerry's Sunday lead. Factoring in the poll's four-point margin of error places the Massachusetts senator and the former Vermont governor in a statistical tie...

“Dean had another good polling day," pollster John Zogby said, "and has picked up support among groups he once led. His strength among 18- to 29-year-olds looks solid. Will they vote?"...

From inside the Dean campaign, MSNBC's Felix Schein reported Sunday: "The energy has returned, the candidate has stuck to the script and a massive ground organization is now in full swing, all three combining to generate a positive buzz and the momentum the campaign so desperately needed following its stunning Iowa loss."

Interestingly, Schein reports, "the Iowa scream itself may be playing a part in the rebound" in the polls. "For Deanics around the Granite State, the footage of Dean’s explosion has served as a rallying cry, producing signs like the ones in Plymouth reading, 'Four more years of Bush and we’ll all be screaming' or 'Scream for Dean.'...

------------------

I don't think we can beat Schrub just with a good scream.

1. Dean's record makes him uniquely positioned to beat Bush silly.
My advice to Dr. Dean:

Talk about your strategy for beating Bush. Talk about how you are uniquely positioned to take on George Bush because of your record. Talk about how when you say that you'll tackle the problem of creating jobs and getting Bush's out of control spending and deficits under control, you have the record to prove to the American people that you're aren't just making promises.

Say that when you talk about giving Americans universal healthcare that you have the record, experience and expertise that shows that you're not just telling voters what they want to hear.

Talk about how when you criticize George Bush on the Iraq War, you have the record that proves that you wouldn't have made the exact same mistake -- and 500 brave America soldiers would be alive today and thousands more wouldn't be disabled for life.

Talk about how when you say you want to help the Democrats take back the House and Senate, that you have almost a million regular Americans in 50 states and 20,000 zip codes willing to work and contibrute whatever they can to make that dream a reality.

17. And this graph shows that you're right
Dean could gain a lot of ground if he would address that issue more directly:

25. and talk about how ANY of the Dems would be a better president than Bush!
I wish THAT would be the stock answer when our candidates are questioned about each other.

33. that is beyond 'wishful thinking'
for as great as Dean is, you simply need to face this one overriding fact: undecideds and swing voters don't go his way. This should scare the crap out of every Dem.

The most significant thing coming out of Iowa was hardly the scream, it was the number of first-time voters and anti-war voters Dean DIDN'T get. Kerry and Edwards sucked up everyone on the fence, and that is going to be the only way we can unseat an incumbent next Nov.

was a result of independent thought do you?

35. There are more than issue that drives a winner
As I posted before, Dean has reached the point of no return, he has a grass roots campaign that may get upset with some of the things the media portrays about him but will remain steadfast. All winning politicians reach this point, they develop a form of Teflon coating - look at Clinton, no matter how much they threw at him, his base support remained constant and continued to grow. Dean is in this same situation, the media can hype, they can do all they want, but Dean support continues to grow because his base is so solid. Many suggest Dean can't win but they fail to take in account the entire "Teflon coating" effect that some politicians develop with the core support. This core support will prevail, it will not drop off and each attack will make it grow. There are a lot of good democratic candidates running, all are better than the bush team and I will support any - but I believe Dean will be our next president. If it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger, the media has tried several times to kill off Dean but he keeps getting stronger, -we have a winner here folks. The right wing corporate controlled media will try to convince you not to believe Dean can win, but he can and will.

2. This is why....
... I'm skeptical of the claim of Rovian (or anybody's) invincibility in a campaign.

Things that look like a slam dunk can backfire with a loud bang. On some level, people spot phony indignation and it just frosts them.

Anybody seeing that speech in context could see that it might have been a little impassioned, but hardly the ravings of a lunatic.

They did manage to pull it off over the Wellstone funeral, but they won't be able to with every little thing that comes down the pike.

32. I think theyre worried
which is why they're bringing out big guns now - guliani, pataki, mccain - to try to diminish some of the bush bashing. Guiliani is so revered & associated with 9/11 crisis management - the subliminal reminder. Why would they bother if they were so confident. Of course bush was awol while guiliani covered his ass that day too.

3. Shelby Foote`s discription of the "Rebel Yell" is what I thought of when I
heard the scream on the Randi Rhodes show. Which is proper since we are rebelling against this court appointed poilished turd. Thank you Dr. Dean for being human. Bu$h makes a lot of human mistakes I could forgive him for. But murdering innocent Iraqi`s just to get a guy his family helped keep into power and weapons. Is inhuman and not tolerable in my opinion. Dean may go down with the help of the media but whoever carries the banner for us after that better have some rebel yells and fight as hard as hell when it comes to doing battle with a nasty bunch of thugs like Bu$h Inc.
Peace

18. Ah here's a version of rebel yell
In the midnight hour Dean cried - "We'll win '04"
With a rebel yell we cried - "No More War"
In the midnight hour Dems - "We'll win for Gore"
With a rebel yell - Win '04, Win '04, Win '04,
Take back more"

(a la Billy Idol Rebel Yell) Yes I'm that old and I liked his snarling too.

8. The biggest news here
is that let's not let the media determine what we should think about anyone/anything. Seems like the RW media bashing of Dean is doing just the opposite - strenthening his run. The RW media not allowing MoveOn to buy advertising at the Super Bowl has only meant more money pouring into Move On's coffers. Let's not only send * packing - but the RW media also.

There are four or five others that show Kerry with a huge lead. The Boston Globe poll, I believe, has Kerry up by twenty in New Hampshire.

I'm glad and I support CLARK. But I got ticked off at how Kerry, Gephardt, Lieberman and the media trashed Dean. May the NH voters give them all a figurative finger with tomorrow's vote. I hope Dean wins and Clark comes in 2nd.

Nevermind a wimp who goes negative on the underside while speaking about being positive in public.
