Clinton May Appeal National Party's Delegate Decision
Source: NY1 News

Aides to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton say she may appeal yesterday's decision by the Democratic National Committee to seat delegates from Michigan and Florida with half-votes.

After hearing from supporters of Clinton and rival Barack Obama yesterday in Washington, party leaders agreed to the compromise, which will allow delegates from both states to sit at the party's convention in Denver this summer.

The states were originally stripped of their delegates when they broke party rules and moved up their primary dates.

"There's been a lot of talk about party unity, let's all come together and put our arms around each other," said Clinton advisor Harold Ickes. "I submit to you, ladies and gentlemen, hijacking four delegates is not a good way to start down the path of party unity."

3. The committee doesn't rule until the convention, I don't think.
All that wasted time between now and then, warring within the party, instead of coming together and going after McCain. :grr:

7. what's to fight about?

Obama will concentrate on McCain, and if Hillary makes a fool of herself in the press, that's her problem. She has no credibility at this point.

12. I don't think that matters...
I think that the fact that any delegates got seated at all bolster's Clinton's belief—and one I've known for a long time—that if you simply throw a big enough tantrum, and are willing to make a complete asshole of yourself, there are no laws that won't be bent for you, no rules that won't be broken for her. I know the Committee was presented with an unwinnable situation, but if rules mean anything, then none of those delegates should have been seated.

I just want Hillary Clinton to go the fuck away and take her big sack-of-crap husband with her.

15. Her supporters will still be fighting for her --
we need all democrats to come behind Obama now. As long as Hillary has not conceded, we can't achieve that.

5. NOTHING SHORT of giving her the nomination will ever be enough
that is Hillary's idea of democracy. FUCK YOU Hillary, I am so sick and tired of your bullshit. She wants Obama to lose in November, plain and simple..if I she can't win, then he won't either.

6. Of course she will appeal. She's Hillary Clinton.
I never thought unkindly of her before this campaign, but this has been - and, sadly, will continue to be - an extraordinarily ugly chapter of U.S. political history at a time when we desperately need to move forward.

Right from the start, it's been clear - it's all about her. What an ego.

Why didn't anyone tell me???

I was here. I was campaigning. I was just waiving to one of my thousands of supporters who showed up to support me. This was about ME. Martin Luther who?

"Shame on you, Barack Obama."

You should have told her how to act.

Another of your nefarious plots to embarrass poor picked-upon Hillary.

Why, oh why, can you never give her the kind of respect Bill thinks she deserves?

11. Wasn't it the rules committee that made the ruling?
Personally, both camps receive more votes than they should. I still advocate that unpledged delegates should be stripped of their votes and seating privileges.

I support either half the pledged delegates with one vote each or all pledged delegates go but only 1/2 vote each.

One activist would like to see that local elected officials not be delegates to the convention. Or at least require a certain number of them be local grassroots activists.

17. She can appeal to anyone she wants, her true lying character has been exposed
How can we trust ANYTHING that she says or promises

Everything is a political calculation with her

They knew and helped draft the rules before the primaries, and now they go back on their word

The best she can do now is cause the Democrats to lose the white house in November, if she continues this bullshit

She is through

18. I'm sorry, I've tried to be pretty polite and have done my level best
to give Hillary the benefit of the doubt, but this is just beyond the pale. She didn't want him to get any Michigan delegates when SHE violated the agreement. I'm in total agreement -- go away, Hillary. You're pathetic.

20. I agree
I honestly can't believe that her supporters wanted Obama to receive 0 delegates from Michigan. I mean, gimme a BREAK. How can anyone with a straight face say that Obama didn't get a single vote in Michigan? Ridiculous.
