***MSNBC: Breaking**Terry MacAuliffe denies AP Story HRC will Not conceed tonight
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 10:57 AM by grantcart
Source: MSNBC

Todd states that MacAuliffe is saying that the AP story is not true and that she will not concede the nomination tonight

On edit

This is all MacAuliffe speaking like an idiot.

If you listen to his first statement he is saying "She will acknowledge once Obama has the number"

Now he is saying "No one has the numbers and the race goes on".

First class idiot no matter how you slice it

76. Maybe KKKarl if giving her strange drugs
to cause her to lurch blindly into the raging storm in order to split the Democrats. The Hillary supporters calling Stephanie Miller were really bitter. I do not recall anything like this. The only one she is benefiting by this crazy behavior is McCain. I get the feeling she is being manipulated...

while the talking heads on the Fox (yes, my dentist is a Republican, but he's the only one in town on my healthplan) opined on the likelihood of her conceding--- including a Hillary supporter who went on and on about "when she's in the White House". I was tempted to ask for a novocaine shot straight to the brain!

32. Mixed Messages mean that the inner circle is in Chaos. The Message
was leaked prematurely and they had to backtrack before the polls closed.

Doing it before the polls closed was a very bad strategy and would turn off supporters
from voting in those primaries.

29. Here's the updated MSNBC story link
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24944453/

"Clinton campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe said Tuesday that once Obama gets the majority of convention delegates, "I think Hillary Clinton will congratulate him and call him the nominee."

The outcome could come by the end of the day with some choreography by the party's superdelegates. The party insiders were lining up behind Obama at a rate that could seal the nomination once results are in from Montana and South Dakota — or even before."

So the primary is not over yet. We await Clinton's speech tonight.

41. This is what happens when you entrust a guy who is basically a used car salesman
with a high level campaign position. MacAuliffe was good for one thing... roping in big money donors (many of which happened to be shady).

He failed as an Administrator of our party and Howard Dean with his 50 state strategy and ability to reach out to smaller donors has absolutely made Terry's time at the DNC look pathetic in comparison.

Why the Clintons would think Terry would do much better on their campaign is beyond me.

Few, if any of them do know and most likely don't even bother doing the research.

Has anyone had any experience with the delegate process? Absolutely NONE!!

There hasn't been a time going into a convention where the results have been this close by a long shot.

In addition, the results are not final until there is a floor vote AT the convention.

-----

On the other side

Todd is a effing idiot.
McAuliffe is a effing idiot and scumbag. And if Clinton does by chance get the nod we do not want this guy back in as the DNC chair.

And Clinton and her people have run a piss poor campaign. Which would suggest that their campaign would be so poorly operated that they could lose in November. Hillary has good speaking abilities but her staff are incompetent.

61. Long Primary Set to End with Obama Set to Clinch (AP Says Two Aides Spoke on Condition of Anonymity)
Source: Associated Press

Long primary set to end with Obama set to clinch

By TOM RAUM – 2 hours ago
CHICAGO (AP) — History within his reach, Barack Obama is primed to claim the Democratic presidential nomination, and his dogged rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton, is preparing to concede once he's got the delegates.

Two Clinton aides have told The Associated Press that for all intents and purposes, her campaign is over. Obama could clinch the nomination Tuesday night, or even sooner.
The aides say once that happens, the New York senator will acknowledge that he's got the necessary delegates, but stop short of formally suspending or ending her campaign. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to divulge her plans.

AP tally: Obama effectively clinches nomination
Jun 3 01:26 PM US/Eastern

WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama has effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, based on an Associated Press tally of convention delegates.

The tally put Obama over the top Tuesday, ahead of the results from the day's final primaries in Montana and South Dakota. The Illinois senator becomes the first black candidate ever to lead his party into a fall campaign for the White House. Obama outlasted former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in a historic contest and now faces Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona for the presidency.

70. It is an AP article - Ed Schultz just read it on the radio. David Shuster said that MSNBC wont

say it until the votes are in after the polls close and people go public. (Shuster was on Ed's show when this article came across the wires)

69. According to the AP article
The AP tally was based on public commitments from delegates as well as more than a dozen private commitments. It also included a minimum number of delegates Obama was guaranteed even if he lost the final two primaries in South Dakota and Montana later in the day.

71. The AP knows all. All bow down to the AP and their Mega-Tally System!
The AP counts private endorsements and guaranteed delegates.

They just wanted to be first. And they wanted to show off their TallyMaster5000, capable of naming a democratic nominee hours faster than any other tallying system.

86. She'll probably move this metric too.
Even though the choice of the rank and file of the Democratic party will be clear after the primaries today, she may not even concede after Obama gets enough super delegates pledged to support him.

Looks like Madame Napoleon wants to go to the convention. Maybe she's still waiting for "anything to happen" to Obama.
Her twisted logic now will be, that even pledged delegates don't really count until they actually cast a vote in Denver.

Christ...make it stop!

88. Frankly I think this illustrates one of the campaign's biggest problems
I'll bet there are warring factions in her campaign: some say "concede", some say "hold on till the convention".

Both are making statements to the press, probably hoping that it will give their faction more weight.

Pathetic.
