Defector: Bin Laden Son 'Forewarned Iran of 9/11'
Tue Jan 27, 1:17 PM ET

By Mark Trevelyan, Security Correspondent
BERLIN (Reuters) - An Iranian defector, preparing to testify in Germany's second major Sept. 11 trial, said on Tuesday that a son of Osama bin Laden had personally told Iranian leaders of the planned attacks on U.S. cities in 2001. <snip>

The defector, who goes by the cover name Hamid Reza Zakeri, told Reuters in a telephone interview that al Qaeda had forewarned Tehran of the attacks because it wanted Iran's help in sheltering its leaders afterwards. <snip>

Zakeri says he is a former intelligence official who defected in July 2001 and tried to warn the United States, through its embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan, that a major attack would take place on or about Sept. 10.
<snip>

...in May 2001, Zakeri said he had been ordered to collect a VIP delegation arriving by army helicopter at a special base east of the Iranian capital..the guest was Osama's son Saad bin Laden, accompanied by three bodyguards. Zakeri said the visit lasted three days and included late-night talks with Khamenei, ex-president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and three other top leaders. <snip>

He said he passed a warning to a CIA official in Baku, but "they didn't take me seriously." <snip>

2. Try this link...
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20040127/ts_nm/security_iran_defector_dc_1

The original link took me to yahoo news, but there was no story. I typed 'zakeri' into the yahoo news search feature and got this link. It seems to be the same story.

Update: I don't think my link will work either (too long), but if you do the search on 'zakeri' you'll get it.

3. Corrsponds to Existing Timeline.
Osama meeting with the CIA while in the hospital in July, 2001.

Ascroft begins flying only on chartered jets and admits he was told to do so in July, 2001.

Bush plans for longest Presidential vacation in American History outside of Washington in July 2001.

And more...

Bush knew. Cheney knew. Ascroft knew. Condi knew. They all knew.

8. Bush Knew
And their cover-up is sickening. The families should be screaming bloody murder over the whitewashing of the truth. I also think Flight 93 got shot down right after the passenger insurrection. And of course, the administration decided to lie and cover it up, rather than tell the truth about the one plane they did decide to blow out of the sky.

12. not quite
"a shot down passenger plane would not fall in one piece"

But it didn't. Heavy debris, including an entire engine, was found miles from the impact.

Lots of info here on the debris (there's a problem with the site, but here's the cache):

"not to mention communication with the passengers wasnt lost until just before the plane hit, a few minutes tops."

This doesn't rule out a shoot down. The plane could fly for miles after it had been disabled.

11. U.S. intelligence services say story is "trash"/not credible-trust us!

http://www.dw-world.de/english/

According to the German news magazine Der Spiegel, security experts in the German government don't place much trust in the witness’ claims. Already back in 2002 the man tried to establish contact with the federal intelligence service, who after thoroughly investigating him dismissed his story as "not credible."
The Süddeutsche Zeitung has also cited sources from U.S. intelligence services and high-ranking experts in Berlin who regard the Iranian’s statements as "trash."
