Gore endorses Obama and attacks Bush in Detroit
By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

DETROIT - Al Gore is making his debut on the 2008 presidential campaign trail in support of Barack Obama. Gore appeared with the Democratic presidential candidate Monday night at a raucous rally at Detroit's Joe Lewis Arena. His speech was part endorsement, part blistering attack on President Bush.

Gore said Obama can lead the country past "eight years of incompetence, neglect and failure." He said Bush, who defeated him in the 2000 election, dishonored and disrespected the Constitution and made the worst foreign policy mistakes in the nation's history. Gore won the popular vote in the 2000 race, but lost the presidency after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Bush in the disputed Florida election. Gore said, "Take it from me, elections matter."

12. For as long as I can remember ....
Democrats have been leading with their face ....

I have hoped for years that Democrats would grow a fucking SPINE, and not get steamrolled and cowed into kowtowing sycophants of the GOP .... The nonsense about 'failed liberal policies' is a bunch of malarkey, and yet; NO Democrat (even now) has stood up and said "The progressive policies you speak of had been absolute SUCCESSES .. until they were strangled and/or KILLED by the GOP (and their sycophants in the Democratic party)" .... Even now, McCant has been spewing that old canard like it's common knowledge .... And even Obama has YET to address it ....

While I dont want to see simple name calling, I DO want to see them HAMMER the GOP about THEIR failed policies .... and to champion the SUCCESS of the Democratic party agenda of old ....

Until we got some intelligent Democrats with the integrity to STAND UP to those cheap attacks, we will forever have to hear them as if they were gospel ....

13. Exactly my point ....
There we go again : ATTACKING the poor GOP ....

Who'd have thought that, for the last 30 years, the GOP has been grinding Democrats and 'Liberal' noses into the mud, day in and day out .....

Nope: We Liberals have been pounding poor wittle conservatives like mean, ugly brutes of the jungle devour the cutest little cuddly fluffballs ....

Aren't we awful ? ....

10. WE HAVE A BIG PROBLEM!
We're going to lose this election too! It is glaringly apparent tonight! THEY WILL NOT LET US SEE/HEAR...THE CANDIDATES IN A NATURAL FLOW...IT IS ALL GUIDED BY THE PUNDITS!
Gore gave a magnificant speech tonight. After he introduced the "next President of the United States.................WE WERE CUT OF FROM HEARING HIM ( OBAMA) SPEAK!
It's like having great sex, almost to climax......then your lover gets up answers the door and has a chat with an encyclopedia salesman!( Or for the too young to remember door to door salesman, like having your lover answer his/her cell phone and chat!) It's no wonder the kids are all ADHD........NO TRAIN OF THOUGHT SHALL GO UNINTERUPPTED!
cspan was out to lunch tonight.................
So I am paying $47.00 a month for the occassional cspan coverage and 1 hour of German & ME news on link TV, 5 nights a week.
But you notice they let McSame go on & on & on my friends,.....yawn!

16. The two word answer to your post is "Fairness Doctrine".
The conservatives are saying it will cripple conservative radio for a reason: because it WILL.

They have nothing but lies, and cannot afford to have truths uttered during their radio broadcasts. They are, for a change, absolutely honest when they make that claim.

Returning the Fairness Doctrine will cripple conservative radio. It will die, and (if we keep the FD in place) never see the light of day again.

20. the next best thing to having Al Gore as our candidate for president . . .
may be to have Al Gore out there drumming up support for our candidate for president . . . I hope Gore has set aside plenty of time in his schedule to campaign with Obama and speak on his behalf right up to election day . . .

21. Agree 100%
He's still my favorite person in the Democratic Party. I understand his reasons for not running, but we and the country sure could've used him right now.
