Cuba approves, makes available lung cancer vaccine
Source: Reuters

HAVANA, June 24 (Reuters) - Cuban scientists said on Tuesday the first vaccine to extend lives of lung cancer patients has been approved by Cuban authorities for use and is available in the island's hospitals.

The drug, CimaVax EGF, has been shown to increase survival rates on average four to five months and much longer in some patients, they said in a news conference at Cuba's Center of Molecular Immunology.

In contrast to chemotherapy, the traditional treatment for lung cancer, they said CimaVax EGF has few side effects because it is a modified protein that attacks only cancer cells.

They said it was the first lung cancer vaccine to be approved anywhere in the world, although there are others currently being tested.

2. Correct, this could virtually eliminate the need for ACS and save charity minded American donors
...billions of dollars of wasted contributions

RELAY RIPOFFS: WHAT THE ACS WON'T TELL **YOU**

Posted By: Disclosure <Send E-Mail>
Date: Thursday, 14 June 2007, 6:42 p.m.

In Response To: THE POLITICS OF CANCER: KEEP 'EM SICK! (ResourceEngineer) We've been preaching it for years!!!

The ACS is running in fear from Disclosure, as we started outing them five years ago and have been relentless.

They don't give money to cancer patients...they only give 17% of proceeds from any Relay to research...their regional offices house people with six-figure incomes driving big cars and living in posh houses...

Thus the most recent in a series of stories dating back to 2002...from the Disclosure June 2007 issue now on newsstands....

‘If the ACS really cared about you…’
Relay for Life ripoffs: not just of the public

SO. ILLINOIS—While many communities are beginning to see a change in the public’s attitude toward the American Cancer Society and its ‘signature’ fundraiser, Relay for Life, others are seeing opportunities to allegedly rob the coffers of the still-bountiful funds raised so that the ACS can continue its bogus “war against cancer.”

DuQuoin theft
Two recent incidents in southern Illinois serve to highlight a couple of things: that some people are getting desperate in their efforts to cope with ever-increasing costs of living, and that the American Cancer Society is probably really easy to steal from.

In April, a woman, identified only by a single name, Linda, entered a DuQuoin store and claimed to be a team member for the local Perry County Relay for Life and said she was “there to pick up the money.”

The team, who had been selling angel pins at this store and at one in Pinckneyville to raise money for the event, happily handed over the proceeds from the sales to ‘Linda.’

No one ever saw her again, so apparently she got away scot-free. It was never made public just how much money ‘Linda’ walked away with, as these days, it seems, no officials ever release how much money was stolen from anywhere, nor how much money area Relays raise (unless it’s in conjunction with a happy close of a Relay, that being: whether or not they reached their ‘goal’ set by the ACS every year.)

4. Touche'!!!
Ever read the book- The War On Cancer? The info within will make you mad as hell.
One instance:

The Pap Smear- you know the test that saves lives?... Well, it was available a full ten years earlier before introduced as common practice.

The reason was that the medical community was afraid it would hit into their profits!

EVIL<EVIL<EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one reason I opt for alternative care!

11. That is one of the main arguments Big Medicine uses to justify keeping
their industry private.

No wonder they hate Castro and socialism. Their beating them at their own game.

12. Four to five months, eh?
I saw not one but two people in my office today that evil old American medicine cured (that's right-cured) of lung cancer. (cured meaning five year disease free survival) Both were traditional medicare with supplement policies.

13. Yeah but that have that there too.
:eyes:

It's not like they're letting everyone get to the point of death and then giving them 4-5 months. Anything that's new and works is good. Anything that you can trust because it's not for profit is better.
