North Korea to Hand Over Nuclear Declaration, China Says

BEIJING — North Korea will hand over a declaration of its nuclear programs and activities on Thursday, China said, a step that could result in the United States taking Pyongyang off its terrorism blacklist.

In making the announcement, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei gave few details and it was not immediately clear if North Korea had already submitted the declaration.

Wu, China's chief envoy to six nation talks on ending North Korea's nuclear programs, took no questions during the short briefing.

Pyongyang "will submit its nuclear declaration to the chair of the six-party talks and the United States will implement its obligations to remove the designation of (North Korea) as a state sponsor of terrorism and to terminate applications of the Trading with the Enemy Act," Wu said.
