Iraq critics owe me apology: ('Aussie John') Howard

John Howard said yesterday that the British report clearing the Blair Government of claims it "sexed up" its intelligence on Saddam Hussein's weapons also exonerated him. "Those who have accused us of taking Australia to war on a lie owe me as much an apology as those who made equal accusations against Tony Blair owe him an apology," the Prime Minister said.

Asked if he was concerned that intelligence warnings that Iraq had stockpiled weapons of mass destruction appeared to have been incorrect, Mr Howard said: "It's still too early to make a final judgment. If you wait for proof beyond all reasonable doubt, as I said more than a year ago, you face a potential Pearl Harbour situation."

The report by Lord Hutton found that Prime Minister Blair bore no blame for the suicide of weapons expert David Kelly, the source of the BBC report that the Blair Government had "sexed up" the case for war in Iraq. Lord Hutton branded the allegation "unfounded", prompting Mr Blair to demand that his detractors apologise.

If he had any balls he would demand an apology from Bush and Blair for feeding him false intelligence. He should then apologise to all Australians for uncritically accepting that intelligence as gospel and then failing to have an independent foreign policy. He should then fuck off and die.

He always does this, at the first opportunity after every fuck up he always goes the "oh my, I've been terribly misinformed" line of bullshit. Inevitably he also drops some retarded cricketing metaphor. He did it with SIEV-X, he did it with Reiths phone card thing, he did it with the ethanol fiasco. I've never once seen him take any responsibility for any error. Latham should pound him on this record.

So if I get the logic of this right, Howard claims to have been vindicated because a report claims that his source of second hand and false intelligence didn't know it was wrong. He claims to be vindicated by his imcompetence.
