Kosmas has nearly $1 million on hand

Suzanne Kosmas, the former state legislator trying to unseat U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney, has nearly a million dollars on hand, according to fundraising numbers her campaign released today.

Kosmas reports more than $1.1 million raised so far, including $475,000 in the last quarter. The Democrat from New Smyrna Beach has $925,000 cash on hand.

No word yet on how Feeney's numbers match up. We've left messages with his office.

Kosmas, expected to run a tough campaign against the Oviedo Republican, out-raised him in the first quarter by $100,000. She'll officially file her second-quarter report with the Federal Election Commission on the July 15 deadline.
