[Black] Networks commits to Obama-coverage
Source: Comcast

The TV Critics press tour took a political turn Tuesday morning when TV One, a cable network that reaches 40 million homes and is geared toward African-Americans, unveiled its plans to cover the Democratic National Convention. Network President and CEO Johnathan Rodgers unapologetically announced that his network would cover the convention because of the historic nature of Sen. Barack Obama's candidacy making him the first African-American to win a party's nomination for President.

"We are not a news organization. We are a television network that is designed to celebrate African-American achievement," Rodgers said. That is why we are covering this convention. If HIllary was the nominee, we would not be covering this year's Democratic convention."

Asked whether he thought it was unfair that the network wouldn't also cover the Republican convention, Rodgers was adamant, saying, "My audience is 93 percent black. I serve my audience."

3. hmm ... an "entertainment channel" decides to cover the Dem convention ... outrage ...
a "news channel" constantly blasts anti-Democratic crap ... no outrage by the MSM ...

4. Let's see if I got this right

All of the major republican candidates for President snubbed several major invites to discuss issues of import to the Black community. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I think only some of the fringe candidates had the decency to show up. Not only that but some of the radio personalities on the network reached our to have Republicans come on their shows to discuss our issues and NO MAJOR REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE THOUGHT IT WAS WORTH THEIR TIME.

They also snubbed similar venues held by the hispanic and gay communities.

And now it's unfair that a Black network is choosing to only cover the Democratic convention.

CRY ME A FUCKING RIVER.

You didn't have time for us then, so we don't have time for you now!
