US 'killed 47 Afghan civilians'
Source: BBC News

A US airstrike in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday killed 47 civilians, 39 of them women and children, the head of a government investigating team says.

Reports at the time said that 20 people were killed in the airstrike in Nangarhar province. The US military said they were militants.

But local people said the dead were wedding party guests.

President Hamid Karzai set up a nine-man investigative commission, headed by the senate's deputy speaker.

1. Saw pictures of those "militants".
Is this administration STILL not aware that photographs and video have been invented?

6. And that's something the US regime is extremely good at.
Terrorism; it's the New American Way.

3. Whoa, a NINE MAN investigative commission?
That's like rounding up twice the number of usual suspects, isn't it Captain Reynaux?

I'm not sure what there is to investigate. Some cowards indiscriminately drop a bunch of bombs without warning on people who can't defend themselves and can't get away, and 47 bodies litter the ground. How much investigating does that require?

5. You would think the Afghans would know better by now.
No wedding party is safe, in Afgahnistan or Iraq.
