Schwarzenegger: Bush 'bogus' on climate
Any action the White House took now would have been 'bogus,' he says
Posted July 12, 2008 7:00 AM

by Mark Silva

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger pumped up President Bush in a re-election campaign rally at a Columbus, Ohio, hockey arena four years ago. But Bush has let Schwarzenegger, and the world, down on global warming, the governor maintains.

""This administration did not believe in global warming," Schwarzenegger told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos in an interview that will air Sunday on ABC's This Week.

"They just didn't believe in it or they didn't believe that they should do anything about it, since China is not doing anything about it and since India is not willing to do the same thing, so why should we do the same thing?" Schwarzenegger maintains - and that's not the American way, says this son of Austria who found his fortune in his adopted homeland.

"We don't wait for other countries to do the same thing,'' Schwarzenegger tells Stephanopoulos (there's a couple of mouthsful for you). "That's what makes America number one... And I think we have a good opportunity to do the same thing, also, with fighting global warming.''

Schwarzenegger's comments follow the Environmental Protection Agency's decision not to take further action against global warming during the remainder of Bush's presidency.

"To be honest with you, if they would have done something this year, I would have thought it was bogus anyway," the governor says. "You don't change global warming and you don't really have an effect by doing something six months before you leave office....

"This administration did not believe that and greenhouse gases is a pollutant,'' he says. "They fought this in court and then finally the Supreme Court had to tell them, 'Yes, it is a pollutant.''

20. I am sick of these fucking Repugs trying to act like Democrats
Here in Florida, we have another one of those, Charlie Crist. Yep, the same Charlie Crist whose nickname was "Chain Gang Charlie" when he was our AG, is now the darling boy for many on both the left and right. Maybe compared to Jeb Bush, he is, who the fuck knows. All I know is that I've watched his career over the past dozen or so years, he is nothing more than a sleazebag who will say and do anything to advance his career. Which right now, might just land him as McCain's VP.

5. I don't think Arnold intimidates easily....
...and I think the only reason why he endorsed Preznit Fuckstick in 2004 is because he has a good relationship with Pappy Wimpy. Personally, I think Schwarzenegger can't stand the little asswipe.

9. He won't get a call. Arnie's opening the door for JSM III to criticize GWB
Edited on Sat Jul-12-08 10:20 AM by Overseas
Notice how Arnie's critique doesn't talk about how Republican policy over the last 25 years has deliberately ignored global warming by continuing to subsidize the oil industry and limiting support to alternative energy, conservation technology development and mileage standards for cars. He pretends that it is just GWB that has been horrible on the environment.

In addition, Arnie's criticizing W while leaving John Sidney McCain III out of the equation. So you see, Arnie cares about the environment and he's supporting JSM III, so he must be okay.

11. Already running for Senate?
Arnold's time as governor is running out (term limits), so he is starting to run for the Senate.

Unfortunately for him, the next Senate seat we have up for grabs is Barbara Boxer's. Even someone as
"famous" as Arnold has no chance at that seat.

If he waits until 2012, he would have a good chance at taking away Feinstein's seat.

Heck, I would rather vote for a member of the Republican party who frequently pretends to be Democrat than for
a member of the Democratic party who occasionally pretends to be a Democrat.
