UN to withdraw staff from Darfur
Source: BBC News

The United Nations is to withdraw all of its non-essential staff from the war-torn Sudanese region of Darfur, the BBC has learned.

The move comes after a prosecutor at the International Criminal Court sought the arrest of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir for genocide in Darfur.

Judges have still to decide whether there are reasonable grounds for an arrest warrant to be issued.

Sudan's foreign ministry says it does not recognise the ICC or its decisions.

1. Shit.
When a nation decides to murder its own citizens, there is little for anyone outside to do. The Sudan needs nothing much from us, so we have few ways to exert pressure. The Arab Muslims are murdering the black Muslims. There is no brotherhood of religion here. There is racism and greed. Liebensraum. Clear the land by killing its population.

The nations of Africa see fit not to intervene. The nations of Islam see fit not to intervene. The land will be cleared.

Would it have been different if Arab Muslims were being murdered by black Muslims? Would the rich Arab nations have lifted a finger? Would we rush in for our oil buddies. Not even then, I think. But it's only a thought.

4. In Sudan, 'Arab' is black african too
The Sudanese use the term Arab as an affectation, but it doesn't mean that its arab vs. black. The Janjaweed and the Sudanese government are the same color as the people in Darfur, but they are divided along tribal and clan lines. Pick up a book sometime. :eyes:

2. I have to respond
And I respond with a heavy heart. That's all.

Now those people are absolutely vulnerable. :puke: I don't like war - but when a group of people is defenseless . . . awww shit.

The least we do is drop some guns into those camps so those women can defend themselves. They are defenseless. They have NO means defend themselves. And the world (it's not just the U.S. - it's the world) stands by and says nothing.

So fuck the Olympics. I'm not watching it. Fuck us. And fuck that glorified Debate Club in Manhattan.
