FDA: OK to eat tomatoes again

Source of salmonella remains a mystery; pepper warning still stands

The U.S. government has declared it’s OK to eat tomatoes again, lifting its salmonella warning amid signs that the outbreak — while not over — may finally be slowing.

Officials reiterated earlier warnings that the people most at risk of salmonella should avoid hot peppers — jalapenos and serranos.

3. Deregulation really works!
Now, let's go ruin another food industry! Tomatoes are dying on the vine... peppers too... hmmm... how about apples and cherries? No, those come from WA... summer summer fruits it wouldn't be summer without you! Nectarines and plums from South America... that's the ticket.

I'm so sick of this.

4. Oh really, well
I gotta hunch they can't narrow it down because Mexico would be off limits to American authorities.

5. Salmonella can be transmitted by a bird flying overhead
and taking a crap on the vegetable patch. It's one of the reasons it's necessary to wash all produce, especially the stuff you're going to eat raw. The bird shit might not be apparent, but the bugs might still be there.

That there were so many cases this year is unusual. That there were salmonella cases traced to fresh produce isn't.

6. I will be the true conspiracy theorist that I am at heart
and say that I don't think that this is really slamonella or at least the usual type. There has to be something causing this and I have never seen it take so long for a source to be found. I find it all very suspicious. There has to be something covered up for some reason.

I wrote a book several years ago (around five) about a virus that was manufactured by the government and released on the wild horses so they would die and their reserve could be released for use by the corporations (oil, timber, etc) The virus spread to other animals and then to humans. I am not saying this is what happened here(I'm not that bad off yet) but what if it is a government strain of something that has been released and found its way into our food source. Or maybe just a chemical additive that has been used to get higher production. Way too much unnatural stuff is in our foods these days.

I know, I have way too much time to think crazy things.
