(Former US Attorney Margaret) Chiara believes she was fired over sexual rumor

RAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) -- Margaret Chiara said she believes she was fired as the US Attorney in West Michigan because of a false rumor she was in a relationship with a woman prosecutor.

Chiara told the Los Angeles Times she now is convinced she was let go because of an erroneous notion she was involved with prosecutor Leslie Hagen.

This comes on the heels of an internal Justice Department report detailing questionable and illegal moves by the department under the guidance of former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and his staff, including Monica Goodling and Kyle Sampson.
