...as good as Britney suing him would feel, she is not a well liked person generally speaking, and her suing him (pants or not), may create some sympathy for the old fool. As much as I'd like to see him sued, I'm not sure that in this particular case it would be in the Democrats best interest.

104. You may want to read some of the speeches in the Senate |
|
when that bill was debated. Kennedy was utterly amazing, though completely upset that every amendment to protect people to any small degree was was rejected. He gave an example of a woman, whose husband left her, who quickly found herself in debt. She took a second job and applied all its earnings to her debt, but due to penalties after a year owed even more. This is from memory and the details may be wrong. The fact though was that the terms were ridiculous and - even with best intentions - she couldn't get out of this.
Are you sure that events beyond your control will never cause you or friends you care about to suddenly be in this situation. Do you think that 30% annual interest is fair or is it usury?
I like Biden, but on this he is wrong - even if they are quartered in his state. If you declare bankruptcy "time and again", you will not be able to get credit cards.

I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure it's covered under the fair use law.
Yoko Ono recently sued Ben Stein for playing Imagine in his film about evolution a couple months ago. She lost. I assume political campaign commercials come under pretty much the same law as political documentaries.

Not that I'm a Brittney fan, but the ad was rather insulting. And since she's actually sold A LOT of freaking records, and did a lot of touring to millions of fans, I'd say she's famous for something more than just "being famous."
I this ad will backfire on mccain regarding the youth vote. They might not be big Brittney fans, but they will see how insulting this ad is to someone who is young and famous. So all three young voters who may have considered mccain will stay home.

her in the photo but they can get to the insinuation of how they were using her and Paris Hilton in the ad which might get somewhere because it is not just like they shot an ad and Paris and Britney were there, they were actually using them for their purposes in this ad and I hope they have to pay them for every single time it showed which is a lot since every network is using the ad in their news programs.

All it takes to file a lawsuit is money, and she has plenty of that. She could call her attorneys, say "sue the bastard, and let me know what you're suing him for, but sue him."
They'll come up with appropriate causes of actions, ones that cannot be the subject of a successful motion for summary judgment or for dismissal. Maybe business slander. That's always a good one, with venue often available where the plaintiff resides. Maybe unauthorized use of proprietary materials.
She doesn't have to worry about the specific causes of action, and neither do we, because she has a butt load of money, and if you give a decent law firm a hundred grand to get started and tell them to sue McCain for anything they can dream up, they'll do it.
If she sues him, then she gets to launch press releases of her choosing through motions and pleadings filed by her attorneys. It could be fun. Maybe she'll start taking public shots at Cindy McCain for her lying, thieving, drugged out ways. I can just see Britney saying "well, his wife is richer than I have ever been, but I never stole pills from a charity to get high." That would make for good TV infotainment.

79. Not sure if I'm late on this one - McCain Frenh Fries logo |
|
I knew there was something familiar about McCain's little logo - Looks pretty damn close to me. I don't think old Johnny has any connections with the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCain_Foods_Limited">McCain Co., if he does it's news to me considering they are a Canadian Co. from New Brunswick.

If they are that stupid to infringe on copyrights and not ask celebs to appear in their dumbass ads, they deserved to be sued. We need to comb through all their ads, find out who is in them and if they want to sue as well. Maybe a class action is not so farfetched?

83. The republicon party is not only desperate but stupid and out of touch too. |
|
Why didn't they check with two ladies in question before they used their pictures in an ad? Are they that naive? Come on, both of them have republicon backgrounds. Do you think they may be upset by seeing pictures of themselves morph into a liberal blackman? Why didn't they ask them first?
This is how the country has been run for the last eight years. Act first, think later. It's the republicon style.

The McCain camp will no doubt argue that it is parody and thus a fair use. But still, dragging them into court is publicity that doesn't help McCain.

111. she won't sue. she supports the resident. remember her little cameo |
|
in Fahrenheit 9/11?
on the other hand, paris should sue--olbermann showed that her mummsey and daddsie donated the full amount ($4,600) to mcpain and now he's got their little kitten in his nasty ad (implying what a piece of shit her & obama are).
ugh. i'm guessing the hilton's won't be offering up any of their fund raising services for mccheapshot in the near future.

113. mccheapshot is a good one |
|
He is full of them, he won't visit troops because cameras weren't there. First all of all they act like that was the cause and effect. He has visited troops in stateside which is where many of them go after leaving theater to Germany then stateside so that is a low blow. Just because on his big tour he didn't happen to go there but went to a gym. So what? What is McCain doing? Sitting at his Sedona Ranch having a high donor visit while that ad was released while he was speaking at 10 street (or something like that I'll edit later)
Everytime I turn on the tv, the media, talks about the media's obsession with Obama talking about others but however they are the media themselves. The debate shows on tv make me :puke: I want to know of a good one so far the only two I watch is Wolf Blitzer in the afternoon and Keith Olbermann at night. I also watch the Daily Show and Colbert Report and that's it. Fox News is terrible, right wing all the time I saw O'reilly have 5 guests and that agreed with him on each of the 5 topics :puke:
