6. That was yesterday's Gallup
I this one, Obama's down 1, but maintains a significant lead. I suspect the lead will be down to 3 or 4 after the massive GOP convention attacks.

8. Obama had a very good polling day 4 days ago that just dropped out of tracking
So he probably had 6-7 point edge each of the last 3 days.

13. But...CNN says 44/43 Obama. Must have asked around in different parts of town.
I hope Gallup is right but it's so hard to get my hopes up when the other side is willing to lie, cheat, and steal to win.

16. Obama's lead much greater
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 07:29 AM by AnnaLouise
Gallup in 1940 said Wendell Wilkie on election night was tied with FDR
In 48 Gallup said Dewey on election night was 5 points ahead of Truman
Gallup has frequently inflated Republicans' numbers by 20 or more points

"Pollsters" are actually neocon PR firms, designed to create and not
to measure public opinion.

17. Yeah.
Anyone who thinks polling companies are engaged in a dispassionate search for truth is not paying attention. There is a lot of money at stake. Politicians will not pay you to produce polls that make them look bad. All these polling organizations are essential parts of the Mighty Wurlitzer.
