Huckabee assails media coverage of GOP
Source: Associated Press

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has harshly criticized media coverage of Republican presidential politics.

Huckabee said Wednesday night that the heavy scrutiny of the party, especially vice presidential selection Sarah Palin, had the effect of unifying the GOP. He said news media coverage has been "tackier than a costume change at a Madonna concert."

2. Yes, CNN and Faux literally spinning Gustav into Cat 4 and 5 to give * cover
was quite tacky. NOAA and everyone else was calling Cat 3, but you could watch endlessly spinning 4's and 5's slam into the Gulf Coast on the "Librul Media"

14. You're so right! I was watching Gustav throught the national hurricane
center on the net but when I turned on the teevee, whoa! MONSTER STORM worst to hit the US ever! What a sinister tactic! It was the diversion the McSame camp needed.

3. What a wimp
Can't take criticism. The press has had to investigate Palin because McCain made the unprecedented move of selecting a VP pick without any national stature. And now they are complaining about it.

This does unite the GOP. The GOP today is pretty much just the fundies and the oil companies. Any sane Republicans will come over to the Democratic Party. The GOP will become the party of "social conservatives" and nothing else.

5. Huck is simply being a good footsoldier...
...for the RepubliCANTS. This is the new McCain strategy - go after the media ("work the refs" as Lee Atwater would have said).

Heavy scrutinizing of the RepubliCANTs and their convention? That's the media's JOB, Huckie! They are not supposed to be carrying water for you or your RepubliCANT friends - which they have been for far too long.

Actually, I'd say it still hasn't been that harsh yet.

10. Still conservative ...

Nope it's still conservatively biased. They've never called a single politician for calling the current nominee the most liberal politician in America. As if ... Obama all the sudden up and whooped Kerry, who had taken it from Al Gore and so forth.

This is one of the great biases in the media. Moderates are labeled as liberals and liberals are labeled as loonies.

When someone starts calling Dennis Kucinich the most liberal, I'll believe them. Though, I'm not sure that's even true, it may be Cynthia McKinney.

12. I thought Huckabee was bad....!
I thought Huckabee was a cross-eyed spooky smarmy Jesus freak... until I saw Sarah Palin! Sheesh... she makes Huckabee look tame. They really have gone too far with this Evangelical bit. Watch this video of Sarah Palin in church....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG1vPYbRB7k Spare me... What's next.. are they gonna shave their heads wear robes and burn incense and hang out in airports? (dating myself) Hare.. Hare Krishna... Hare Krishna... "Oh I was baptized in the stream and then the Moose crapped on my head and I saw the light so I decided to be the Mayor of Wasilla and Ride my Harley...."
