Poll: 51 percent say reporters are trying to hurt Palin
Source: Rasmussen

rasmussenreports.com

Over half of U.S. voters (51%) think reporters are trying to hurt Sarah Palin with their news coverage, and 24% say those stories make them more likely to vote for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in November.

Thirty-nine percent (39%) also believe the GOP vice presidential nominee has better experience to be president of the United States than Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

But 49% give Obama the edge on experience, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey taken before Palin's historic speech Wednesday night to the Republican National Convention.

While Republicans and Democrats predictably favor their party's candidate by overwhelming margins, the experience gap among voters unaffiliated with either party is even narrower than the national totals. Forty-two percent (42%) say Obama has better experience to be president, but 37% say Palin does.

What a load of crap! The media was actually doing it's job and asking questions for once, the Republicans start complaining, and now people are falling for their garbage.

her under the circumstances.

Or a different 24%?

I couldn't agree more with this statement. We live in a country who is incapable of governing themselves. Who the hell with any brains at all votes for a person because of being male or female??? Half the people I know I just want to slap the crap out of them. I'm so discussed with the people of the country. CRAP:headbang:

23. Its not entirely their fault..
If they are bombarded day after day with lies upon lies, and told that anything opposite of "right"(which they pretend is actually Center) is destroying America, never, if barely, get any information to the contrary, then what can we expect of them? Don't you ever wonder why the Democrats tend to be the smarter half of the population?

We have to destroy the right-wing media, or at least expose them enough, so that they self implode. We need to bring back the Fairness Doctrine, and show America that the Democratic view is the view that REALLY supports America, and not the Republican view, which is for rich men and big business. They've got a 30 year head start, so we need to hit hard and continuously until they are no more. And then we have to unbrainwash the masses. Volunteer. Its the soul of our country that hangs in the balance.

7. 51% WTF
51%? I'd say 70% have been on her hard since the moment she was announced, but my question is WHY NOT 100%?

Media has to decide if they are with us or not. We don't need "fair" and we don't need fair weather friends. Some heads need to roll in newsrooms if they keep up this "fair" crap.

9. The media is with the corporate world. Dems mildly threaten corporations
So the media is against Dems. The media, along with 99% of corporations out there, is against the general populace.

8. what kind of poll did they do?
because I haven't heard one person -- even the southern republicans here -- say anything like that. It annoys me that they claim they took a poll but don't tell you of what people or anything else.

don't let it bother you too much -- the media may or may not do it's job, but the internet and the national enquirer are on the scene (good god, can you believe what we've come to?).

12. No....
they'd be bad if he were a Republican running for office, then it would be bad to criticize Dahmer. The spin would be that JD was trying to expand our food production possibilities.

11. Note they do not say that the coverage is unfair
and as for the 24% who say it makes them more likely to vote for McCain. It's the same fundamentalist nuts who would are more likely to vote for the candidate that they believe will start Armegeddon because they think it will mean a fast-track ticket to heaven for them.

I really don't care what that group thinks and most of America is more than sick of them too.

14. It's just a ploy so that Palin doesn't have to be questioned ...
This contrived fight with the "liberal media" is nothing more than to provide a reason/excuse to keep Palin off the Sunday shows and from having to answer tough questions.

They are essentially going to hide her away from the media... "tutor" her for the debate with Joe Biden... and that's ALLL the access that will be given to her.

They are cowards and manipulators to the Nth degree.

17. That has to be a part of it, at least.
They don't want people asking about Todd being a secessionist, her unjust firing of the police commissioner, or her hypocrisy on special-needs children.

16. So f'n ridiculous
It's only 49-39 and 42-37 (w/ unaffiliated) on the experience question?!? Apparently, all the Repugs have to do is spout bullshit and nearly 40-percent of the country will believe it. (I guess I already knew that, but it's still amazing.) But I guess if the media dared to point out that would-be Emperor Palin has no clothes they'd just be called out for "picking" on her, as the Repugs have succeeded in making that into CW as well. Even when their party is at a low point in popularity, they still are substantially more skilled and/or equipped at shaping public opinion than the Democrats; sad but true.

favorite outlet. Very right wingish--always negative Obama slant. I wrote to them previously about this. No reply.

24. Yahoo has gone over to the dark side.
Like AOL their polls/articles are pretty much stacked against us. I am sick of all of these news sites that don't want the truth to come out. I have always used Yahoo for my search engine but am now going over to GOOGLE. I also use Yahoo for my online games so I don't know what I will do about that. Ugh...
