John McCain offers Barack Obama a cabinet post
Source:

This is one promise that Senator John McCain might struggle to keep if he does win in November. When asked by Time's Rick Stengel, moderating the 9/11 anniversary forum on national service here at Columbia University in uptown New York city, whether he would give Barack Obama a cabinet job, he responded that he would.

"Governor Schwarzenegger has made the service czar a cabinet-level appointment," Stengel said. "Would you, as president, do the same and would you name Senator Obama to your cabinet for National Service?" McCain paused for a beat before replying with a smile: "Yes!" Cue laughter and applause. ...

1. He's got every right to be confident. I would be too if I were him. Not because of his merits but
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 08:39 PM by ryanmuegge
because of his spineless opponents.

4. Spineless?
Guess you're really not paying attention are you? Obama is far from spineless. Only those who can't get past the primaries think that of him.

6. In case you haven't noticed, the Obama campaign is crashing and burning
I'm so fucking mad at how wimpish him and Biden have gotten; why is Biden constantly praising McCain? He should be saying NOTHING good about him! And Obama keeps giving wonky, nuanced responses on obscure issues, and at best is simply reacting to Republican attacks by getting slightly defensive. He needs to attack! Attack! Attack! Quit the nuanced shit that the average idiot voter doesn't understand and call these Repubicans out for the evil fuckers they are!

7. Oh
I've noticed that there are a bunch of folks ready to jump off a cliff because McCain has a "lead".

Me, I don't listen to the meme from the "liberal" MSM. You want to believe the bullshit they're feeding you, knock yourself out. Obama is where he is because he's a smart man. Obviously smarter than you give him credit for.

12. Obama is a genius, no doubt. However, I doubt all of those polls are false.
When all of the polls point toward a general direction, it is an indication that something is going on.

19. Hillary was throwing cream pies compared to what he has to deal with now
I'm a little nervous. He needs to show some backbone and come out swinging, which from what I've read, he will be doing tomorrow. Here's hoping! :)

9. Explain.
"Spineless opponents."

Explain.

Or you've become the spineless opponent you accuse others of being.

13. This argument is so dumb. Obama is doing just fine. Polls show essentially a tie.
Except for Gallup its all a tie and within the margin of error. Sick of the chicken little posts. Blah blah blah. He's putting out more negative ads but Obama is supposed to be about change, remember? Can't be the change candidate if your as muddy and dirty as the opponent. Obama is attacking McCain but not in a disgusting way.

This is nothing but braggadocio to further cheer on their base.

16. I don't want nor believe he's backing down. he's being what he needs to be at this juncture in the
race. your 'spineless' comment is overboard, in fact, disgusting. you deserved to be called out on it. Obama/Biden are anything but spineless. They are responding as they see fit, but they are responding with disgust at the GOP lies, but let's face it - getting a black man president is really the reason for his being behind - but THIS is the time in history for this to happen. We've suffered such horrible 'leadership' under B*sh, that a total change is needed. McSame is no change and, as Bill Clinton said today - America will make Obama a big winner on election day.
