2. Exactly!
We've already seen the bias in the sample proportions of Dems to Repugs. Even though Dems have an 11 million advantage in registration, Repugs are represented as a majority in most of these polls. Don't believe any of this bullshit. They're trying to set us up to explain why the exit polls aren't going to match the actual results! IF ALL THE VOTES ARE ACTUALLY COUNTED, IT SHOULD BE A LANDSLIDE!

7. Has anyone described why all of the major polling companies
did this at the exact same time? And why right after the RNC?

3. I sure do hope you're right!
I think I heard last night that in VA there is now about a 5 point lead for McCain (not too surprising considering our state's historical/hysterical patterns) - but compared to past natl. elections, that's still a very good showing for Obama. I can't wait for some huge GOP screwup to happen - preferably during the week before election day -and put the nail in their coffin. It can't be some republican lying or stealing - there's just no interest in that, and besides it happens all the time. It has to be SEX!!! Preferably oral - then that will swing the pendulum (at least here).

5. This is good news, in my book
IN 2000 and 2004, the polls had Gore and Kerry up by double digits at times, and, well, we know what happened.

So this could be very good news for us, in the long run.

6. I still think we got this election for 3 reasons
1. McCain - Most people don't resonate with him, they are paying attention to Palin right now at the moment. After a little while they will go back to comparing McCain and Obama and we have the stronger candidate by far. McCain will make a lot of mistakes folks.

2. The economy - Obama needs to focus on this and let others do the attacking. I think we will start seeing this more. People know this and will vote their wallets first.

3. Foreign Policy - People want a different horse, not the same, even if the same might be appearing a little bit better at the moment, they will still vote for change.

OBAMA / BIDEN 08!!!

13. Exactly
We've all seen Obama orate and McSame as well. Obama is going to clean McSame's clock.

McSame just stands there "uh... uh... ummm... well... see..." and Obama gives crisp, quick, clear answers. He's the superior thinker and Candidate.

10. The big news is how McCain's "bump" and lead has been steadily eroding.
At the beginning of the week, Gallup had it McCain 49% to Obama 44%.

Now, it's 48% McCain to 45% Obama.

That's within the margin of error in a GOP leaning poll. Thus, we're back to being statistically tied again.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it actually, say, 47% even on Monday.

15. Watcher, your point is noted
I've been following the caging tactics brought to you by McCains goon headquarters.

Personally, I'd like to know re: these polls HOW people are being contacted (land line phone call?, how is the question phrased?)

I'm not worried about the polls being wrong. I believe they are, but I AM worried about and never underestimate the laziness of how people are misled by caging tactics.

Get an absentee ballot application that you didn't ask for? - CALL YOUR STATE SENATOR!

Vigilance!

14. Hey, come on Palin and McCain are agents of change....
sort of like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The ship is still going to sink. The ship being this once grand nation.
