Forum sells ‘Obama Waffles’ with racial stereotype
Source: The Associated Press

A conservative political forum on Saturday sold boxes of waffle mix depicting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as a racial stereotype on its front and wearing Arab-like headdress on its top flap. ...

... Republican Party stalwarts Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney were among speakers at the forum, which officials said drew 2,100 activists from 44 states.

While Obama Waffles takes aim at Obama's politics by poking fun at his public remarks and positions on issues, it also plays off the image of the classic pancake-mix icon Aunt Jemima, which has been widely criticized as a demeaning stereotype. Obama is portrayed with popping eyes and big, thick lips as he stares at a plate of waffles and smiles broadly. ...

On the back of the box, Obama is depicted in stereotypical Mexican dress, including a sombrero, above a recipe for "Open Border Fiesta Waffles" that says it can serve "4 or more illegal aliens."

that provides cover to spam kings and malware hosts, though ostensibly not on purpose, but many times if I whois a malware domain I see Domains By Proxy (which is based in AZ.) Sounds like they need to be more aggressive with enforcing their TOS...I've had their name come up several times recently while researching malware domains to add to the web filter blacklist at work.

The makers of Obama Waffles are in bed with cyberterrorists and crime-syndicate botnet operators.

How fitting, and how almost-boringly typical. Birds of a feather and all that...

8. Books-a-Million is selling them. Time to let them know that you'll be shopping elsewhere.
1-800-201-3550

Some other places to mention that you'll be avoiding.

"In addition to its flagship Books-A-Million superstore, it operates storefronts badged Books & Company and shopping mall book and greeting card stores under the name Bookland. Most of its stores feature a Joe Muggs café, also the name used for the company's newsstand operations.

In addition to its primary retail component, the corporation includes a book wholesale and distribution subsidiary, American Wholesale Book Company (AWBC), an e-commerce division operating as BOOKSAMILLION.COM, and an internet development and services company, NetCentral, in Nashville, Tennessee.

In 2001, Books-A-Million acquired the Crown Books chain of bookstores."

26. These sociopaths have chosen to use the word "satire" to cover their filthy attacks.
We recently heard someone like Rush Limbaugh using the word "satire" to describe his venemous attacks on Democrats.

They give themselves far more credit than they actually deserve.

From the Yahoo article you posted:
Asked if he considered the pictures of Obama on the box to be racial stereotypes, Whitlock said: "We had some people mention that to us, but you think of Newman's Own or Emeril's — there are tons and tons of personality-branded food products on the market. So we've taken that model and, using political satire, have highlighted his policies, his position changes."

The socially conservative public policy groups American Values and Focus on the Family Action co-sponsored the summit.
Absolutely pathetic scum of the earth.

45. Emeril has his picture. Newman is drawn normally.
This is pickaninny Sambo bullshit, plain and simple, and no "political satire" will cover up it's racist intent.

And why is it that with Democrats, changing your mind on something means "FLIP FLOPPING" or "WAFFLING", while with Repukes, it's labeled "changing your mind"? "Our Republican candidates don't 'flip-flop'! They're steadfast in their beliefs and stick to 'em." Yeah, never mind that just about everything they support is lousy anti-worker, pro-corporate, pro-aggressive-war policy which has led America to economic ruin and worldwide ridicule.

13. They have pushed me to the point...
that I can no longer control my hatred of the republic party and pretty much everything it has come to stand for. These assholes are such blatant racist, who are openly waging war on everything that makes this country special, and claiming to do it because they love America that I just can't stand it any more. It really pisses me off that they they have made me as much of a hater as they are, I just happen to hate them. I have reached the point where I wouldn't piss on a repuke if he was on fire, but God help him if there was gasoline near by. Prior to reading this, I just watched the Sarah Palin wolf hunting video. It seems that each and every rupuke is more despicable than the one before. I have a hard time even wrapping my head around just what horrible human beings they are. I wish I was as articulate as NancyGreggs so I could put in to words just how much I loathe these piss poor excuses for human beings. It has reached the point where someone tells me they are a repuke or that they support any repuke, but McCain in particular, I have a hard time even being civil to them. I just immediately assume, OK, you're a bad person. This can't be healthy, but I can't help myself any more.

that is keeping track of all the republican racial stuff that is/has been happening? -

20. Suggestion for such disgusting behavior.
I just went to Focus on Family website and sent them an email telling them how ashamed they should be for sponorsing hate speech. Perhaps some of you would like to do the same? I've sent them emails in the past. Don't know if they read them or even if they did, if they cared. But it helps me get it off my chest.

Scroll to the bottom of the home page and click on 'contact us'. They should be inundated with emails decrying such nastiness, and they call themselves "Christians"? Not my opinion of what a Christian is.
