BIAW might have broken campaign law (against Gregoire)

State campaign-finance regulators say that a financial arm of the politically potent Building Industry Association of Washington has committed "apparent multiple violations" of state campaign law.

At issue is $584,527 that BIAW received from member local builder associations for use by BIAW's ChangePAC, which is helping to buy attack ads against Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire and to promote Republican Dino Rossi.

The state Public Disclosure Commission compiled a 138-page investigative report on the activity. That report goes to the commission's five citizen members Monday morning, and it's unclear whether the PDC or Attorney General's Office will take the case from here — or what kinds of penalties might be sought or imposed.

"I think there is a lot of legalese in these documents, but the short of it is BIAW has been caught red-handed, mounting an illegal fundraising campaign for the governor's race," attorney Knoll Lowney said Friday. He helped write the original complaints and said he hopes the government holds BIAW accountable.

1. Horror of horrors
They might have to ... pay a fine!

All part of the cost of doing business at the BIAW and the RNC.

2. The campaign receiving the contribution should be required to pay
a matching fine equal to the illegal contribution to the Commission.

5.  Dino Rossi and his backers will do anything to win
WA is doing pretty good under Christine Gregoire but Rossi is puttiing out commercials claiming he cares about the average citizen. He is a real piece of work.

6. Republicans will break any law
To receive they goals and the hell with the laws.. Why
should they worry about laws , they are just words written on
a piece of paper.

We know what Bush say.....The constitution is nothing but a
G.D. piece of paper and he could do anything he wishes...

Bush say he could run this country well if it was a
dictatorship and he was the dictator.

Bush say he was a war president.

They all have come true and he is all of the above and we are
the slaves to do each and everyone of his commands and
wishes..
