Republicans accuse Obama of 'ageism'
Source: AFP

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Republicans Sunday accused Barack Obama's camp of stooping to "ageism" against John McCain, hitting back after Democrats complained their White House challenger had been smeared by "disgusting lies."

The Democratic hopeful meanwhile said he had smashed his own record and raised 66 million dollars in August, grabbing a leg-up in the frenetic seven weeks of no holds barred, coast-to-coast campaigning until the election.

Republicans replied after Obama launched a fierce counter-attack last week as his poll numbers ebbed, while McCain rode a wave of enthusiasm following his choice of Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate.

"The Democratic Party is in full-throated panic over Sarah Palin," said McCain ally and former top business executive Carly Fiorina on ABC News' "This Week," lambasting US columnists who accused McCain and Palin of telling lies.

7. They play the cards so fast you can't guess which they'll use next.
I'll go with "Christian-bashing."

It is just so incredibly ironic that the party that has been openly hostile to the existence of the very concepts of "sexism," "ageism," and "racism" is now becoming the party of card pullers.

49. Where did these right wing religious republicans
purchase their bible!!!!

I. First, then, THE COMMAND. It is the second great
commandment. The first is, "Thou shalt love the Lord, thy
God," and there, the proper standard is, thou shalt love
thy God more than thyself. The second commandment is,
"Thou shalt love thy neighbour," and the standard
there is a little lower, but still preeminently high,
"Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." There is
the command. We can split it into three parts. Whom am I to
love? My neighbour. What am I to do? I am to love him. How am
I to do it? I am to love him as myself.

With the hate republicans have in their heart , toward
everyone they see or hear which believes not as they do , I
doubt very serious if they know right from wrong or the
teaching of Jesus Christ......

51. Oh, I don't know about that. The independents weren't watching the primary.
So far, the McCain campaign seems to be stealing slogans from Obama, and campaign ads and tactics from Clinton. ("Ready on Day One" "The call at 3:00 a.m." "Clinton and McCain have experience, Obama had a speech")

But I don't recall Clinton hitting the Rev. Wright thing hard. I seem to recall that she sorta let it play out on its own. The media and Clinton supporters were hitting it hard enough, w/o her running ads on it. But maybe I've forgotten. It was a loooooooong primary.

10. mctheusela and caribou barbie
is truer than anything that will come out of some repuke operative's mouth.

the truth is that the choice of Palin has made ALL AMERICANS look at his age and, for anyone with any sense, run away from this ticket. I said this on another thread, but I have to reiterate that I spoke to quite a few women yesterday - ones that I don't know - mothers, middle-class women -- and these women, almost to a one said Palin is "scary."

Scary as in she is such a religious extremist the thought of her being so near the presidency is horrifying.

You wouldn't think the republicans could pick anyone less qualified and more uninformed than Bush - but they did it. They're experts at bottom-feeding apparently.

when he selected a truly unqualified and insane right wing whackjob as a VP.

I dare to say what everyone is thinking,

(but are nothing of any such kind) and who will make themselves close to McCain
are licking their chops at the prospect of McCain,
by natural cause or conveniently otherwise,
dying in office.

So what else is new? I'll just add that to the list knowing that by election day there won't be ANYTHING that they have NOT accused Obama of. Its called filler in some industries, when McSame/Palin have NOTHING to offer the country they have to find something to substitute with, in this case it phony accusation and meaningless slogans.

This coming from the same bunch spewing racist hatred against Obama; disgusting lies about him; and indulging in the Rovian win-at-all-costs smear tactics.

Those people ought to quit whining when the Obama camp hits them with the harsh truth and throws McManiac's own words back in his face. McLame/Failin' can dish out the slander, but can't handle the truth. They think they're entitiled to preferential, kid-glove treatment from Democrats.

and Reagan quite obviously had Alzheimers for at least the last four or five years he was in office.

Companies not hiring forty or fifty year olds so they don't have to pay them pensions is ageism. Not hiring a 72 year old to handle the nuclear weapons for the next four or five years isn't. It's due diligence.
