Cooper's Attorney's Try To Delay Execution (innocent to execution?)
Edited on Thu Feb-05-04 08:47 PM by Angel_O_Peace
LOS ANGELES -- With his execution looming just a few days away, a lawyer for convicted murderer Kevin Cooper asked a federal judge for a reprieve, claiming that a lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment.

<snip>
Meanwhile in Los Angeles, a former United Press International reporter who covered Cooper's trial 20 years ago distributed a sworn declaration at a press conference Thursday saying she met a man seven years ago at a San Diego car stereo store who claimed to have firsthand knowledge that evidence was planted in the case.

Cooper, 46, was convicted of using a buck knife and hatchet to murder a Chino Hills couple, their 10-year-old daughter and their daughter's 11-year-old friend in 1983. He has maintained his innocence, but last Friday Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declined to grant him clemency.

Cooper says DNA testing that indicates he was the killer was mishandled and claims another prison inmate confessed to the crime. His defense also hinges on an expert who said it was virtually impossible for one person to commit the San Bernardino County massacre because at least three weapons -- a hatchet, knife and ice pick -- were used.

1. Not just that but the Ryan's surviving son said
4 latinos entered the house. The jury never heard this testimony. One of the perps' former girlfriends brought bloodied overalls to the SBDO sheriff's from the NIGHT of the murder...the overalls disappeared.

3. There were blond hairs in the hand of a victim too
Clearly, the condemned is not blond. Way too many inconsistencies/problems with this case.

In addition to what was mentioned above, someone else currently in prison confessed to being there with 3 other men, none of them Cooper.

Schwarzenegger made this decision based solely on political measures, not on the facts of the case.
