Jewish voters report calls disparaging Obama
By Kelli Kennedy
Associated Press Writer / September 16, 2008

MIAMI—Jewish voters in Florida and at least one other state are being targeted by a telephone survey tying Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama to Palestinian causes, an advocacy group alleged Monday.

The Jewish Council for Education in Research says at least two women in separate states were push polled, or asked questions intended to influence voters while pretending to take a poll, on Sunday afternoon from a caller who said he was from Research Strategies.

Joelna Marcus says she became uncomfortable when the caller asked if she was Jewish, whether she was Orthodox and how often she attends synagogue.

The caller then asked if Marcus would be influenced if she learned that Obama had donated money to the Palestine Liberation Organization. The caller also asked how she would vote if she learned that someone on the Illinois senator's staff had close ties to Palestine.

Marcus, a 71-year-old former college professor, said she was furious.

"I said you're not polling me. This is un-American. This is unacceptable," said Marcus, a snowbird who lives in New Jersey and has a house in Key West. "And then this is the scary part. He said if you had not said that you were Jewish, you would have been disqualified."

Once again, the RNC is out to disenfranchise Jewish voters in Florida.

On September 1st, the McCain campaign brought on Tucker Eskew, the man behind Bush's 2000 "McCain's black baby" South Carolina push poll. Two weeks later, we see this. Gee Tucker, what took so long???

1. This makes me think that Florida indeed is in play.
They wouldn't be doing this if they thought McCain had FL in the bag.

2. This is so beyond ridiculous.
Even if you believed that Obama was a Muslim, which he isn't, his ties to the Muslim faith came from Kenya and Indonesia. What the fuck would either of them have to do with the PLO??

3. Send this to Jewish friends
Please forward to interested people.

Subject: FW: Palin's first race for mayor: Whispering
campaign her opponent was Jewish

John C. Stein was Sarah Palin's opponent for Governor. He is
not Jewish but of course has a Jewish name which could be a
liability in race of that nature.
Stein:

"Sarah comes in with all this ideological stuff, and I
was like, 'Whoa,'" said Stein, who lost the election.
"But that got her elected: abortion, gun rights, term
limits and the religious born-again thing. I'm not a
church-going guy and that was another issue: 'We will have
our first Christian mayor" (said Palin.)

"I thought: 'Holy cow, what's happening here? Does that
mean she thinks I'm Jewish or Islamic?" recalled Stein,
who was raised Lutheran.

The mayor of Wasilla before Sarah Palin, John C. Stein, was
also a Republican, though the office was and continues to be
non-partisan. Mayor Stein was defeated by Sarah Palin in a
campaign that brought in the NRA, Republican partisans, and a
whisper campaign that Mayor Stein was Jewish (he is a
Christian, but is "proud of such a reputation"). He
now runs the Sitka Sound Science Center, a marine research
facility in Sitka, Alaska.

4. So When Does The GOP ...
Allow Palin's true supporters to break-out their little costumes with the white sheets and pointy hats? I mean they're letting them talk on the telephone.

5. Here is info on the Company doing the "polling"
This was left in the comment section at mudflats. I'm not sure if they are the ones doing it, maybe we should give them a call and find out.
http://mudflats.wordpress.com/2008/09/15/rally-vs-rally-do-the-math/#comments

This is the company contracted to do odious polling intended to make people think that Obama is a threat and part of Hamas and in bed with the PLO.

Call them and ask them who their client is and what are the intentions of the client. If it is fear and hate mongering, this is incitement to violence against a presidential candidate.

6. Doesn't it make you wonder about Mccain

When he is prepared to hire this guy to get elected.
Either his memory is so shot that he doesn't remember what this guy did to his family or he simply doesn't care and is therefore showing that he would throw his own adopted daughter under a bus just to get elected.
This is the bit where I should say I don't know which is more scary, But for me the second option is by far the worst case scenario because if he can do that to his daughter even if he didn't know his wife had adopted her at the time just think what he would be prepared to do to anyone else.

8. Lets not forget all of his campaigns dirty politics are supposedly something he doesn't know about.

- the TV adds perversely insulting Obama, everything.

Someone else must have hired that guy.... :sarcasm:

Course you gotta wonder how in touch he is when he isn't in touch with his campaign doing things like and running tasteless tv ads with him saying they have his approval in them - without him knowing about it. If he can't control his campaign how can he control the country?

9. Is the average American smart enough to not
fall for this type of politics? God, guns and gays have worked for the pugs for a long time.
