Bush draws 25% approval rating
Source: San Diego On Line

Majority polled say he wasn't up to job from the beginning (like we're surprised)
By John Marelius
UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER

September 19, 2008

As has been the case for the past year and a half, only one-quarter of California voters approve of the job President Bush is doing and a majority of voters attribute his performance to his not being up to the job to begin with, according to a new Field Poll.

The nonpartisan, statewide survey shows that 25 percent of California registered voters think Bush is doing a good job, and 68 percent do not. Seven percent have no opinion.

With an unpopular war in Iraq and a deteriorating economy, the Republican president's approval rating in California has been mired in the 20s since March 2007.

It is lower than any of the past four presidents in their last year in office. Democrat Bill Clinton had an approval rating of 63 percent in August 2000. Republican George H.W. Bush was at 37 percent in July 1992, a few months before losing the White House to Clinton.

Glad to see the truth is coming out! Alas, only 7 1/2 years too late!

1. How can 7% have no opinion? Are they just so self-absorbed that what happens in the real world can
be ignored? (Not just talking about the people in California, but across the country).

19. The 7%?
I bet they are the a**holes who voted for him in 2000 and 2004, and rather than face reality and how their vote f*cked up life as we know it, claim to have no opinion. To admit how inane this administration has been would be to admit they were wrong. Some people can't own up to their mistakes.

As for me, I doubt I could sleep if I knew I had supported that idiot for even a second. It is one of my proudest accomplishments. (I know, I need a life :))

22. Have you ever watched Jay Leno's "Jay Walking" bit?
He interviews people on the street who are unable to identify who the president is.

7. Here ya go
LTTE in today's local rag. I'm willing to bet this guy thinks Bush is doing a heckuva job.

(Background. I don't know who Odner McDonald is, but he frequently writes letters that rattle the cages of the wingnuts and sets them howling. He succeeded in spades on this one.)

Odner McDonald is a typical left-wing wacko who hates America except when it comes to his almighty dollar and his freedoms.

I dare Odner McDonald to go to a Veterans of Foreign Wars or Elks Lodge and call them Nazis. How dare you call anyone a Nazi?

Odner McDonald, if you hate this country so much that you think anyone who flies the America flag, no matter what size, is a Nazi ,then I suggest you move to another country like China or Cuba or better yet Iran and see what freedoms you have there.

While you get on your hands and knees and pray to your pagan God Obama, I will be flying the American flag tall and proud.

17. This is the God's honest truth...
that when Bush was elected in 2000 I said that by the time he leaves office his support will be down around were it really is, around 20%. I wish I'd said to CSPAN.

Bush has a 25% approval rating????
You're kidding? Its got to be republi-spin, like Alaska oil.
That means its really 3%.

The repukes won't even use Bush's name in their campaign.
Many refuse to admit they are repukes!

29. California's progressive shift is continuing.
I was concerned several years ago that California's leftward shift had stopped and stabilized but this is not true. Many of the right-wingers have fled the state for other areas I'm convinced. We may just support marriage equality and Obama both.
