AP poll notes sharp decline in support for Bush
President Bush's public support dropped sharply over the past month, especially among older voters, political independents and people in the Midwest, an Associated Press poll found.

And for the first time, more voters in this poll's two years of tracking the question said they would definitely vote against Bush than said they would definitely vote for him.

Bush's approval rating stood at 47 percent in the AP-Ipsos poll taken in early February, down from 56 percent approval just a month ago. Half, or 50 percent, said they disapproved in the latest poll.

The poll findings marked a difficult month for Bush, as public attention focused on the Democratic presidential primary and the Democrats' daily bashing of the incumbent. The survey came at a time when the public is nervous about the economy and the chief adviser to the administration on Iraqi weapons, David Kay, said last month ``we were almost all wrong'' about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.

1. But this "job growth" will be spun in his favor and the...
"Librul" media be cheering for * again and his numbers will go back up.

I hope that no more jobs are created until December, after the election.

2. I don't think that will help
The growth was less than expected, and Bush's problems go way beyond the economy.

5. Wont Happen
They have been trying to spin the economy for months now. In fact, their insistence that things are good is adding to peoples anger.

10. Physics meets politics
Sometimes I wonder if the economy figures improving is a 'equal and opposite reaction' thing... When GDubs poll numbers go down the economy improves because they know that he will loose the election. The same effect can be seen in 2000 when the MisAdministration says they "inherited" a recession was that investors were responding to the fact that Gdub and Gang was going to take the White House.

4. It doesn't matter
No one is going to believe in job growth (not walmart but decent jobs) unless they happen to see it for themselves. As they say that ain't goin to happen.
Every day I am more convinced that people are generally fed up with the bullshit and it doesn't matter what the media spins.

6. Why are they saying *almost* ?
I thought the quote was *We were all wrong and that is most disturbing*

12. I'd noticed that too...
...maybe it's two different quotes? I'm liking the "almost" quote better myself, because there were freaking millions of pre-invasion protesters who most assuredly were not wrong.

Expect to see the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity and others in full force to try to counter this starting Sunday after Bush on Meet The Press.
