‘Caging’ letter: Are Republicans trying to disqualify Collier, Lee Democrats?
Source: Naples Daily News

NAPLES — Steve Hemping was more than mildly surprised to receive his Party Affiliation Voter Registration Card for the GOP two weeks ago. He’s the chairman of the Collier County Democratic Party.

Since then, he said he has heard more than 30 complaints from local registered Democrats who received the same letter, and the number is growing.

Ira Sharp, president of the Collier County Democratic Club, counts around 100 complaints here from Democrats who say they’ve received the letter, which asks them to confirm their registration as members of the Republican Party by mailing a preprinted card, in a postage-paid reply envelope, to the Republican National Committee.

It also asks for a donation to GOP candidate John McCain’s presidential campaign.

2. That could be an immensely stupid thing to do, Tom.
They may not be able to find people who send white powder to liberals, but I don't think they'd be so incompetent about finding somebody who sends a white powder to one of THEM.

3. Uh, I doubt I would put my return address on it.
And I damn sure wouldn't include the card.

Nobody knows who I am, anyway. Check your Inbox in a bit.

4. Still a bad idea.
The cops/FBI can still check for fingerprints, DNA, etc. They'd find some way to track you down. The last thing the Dems need is for one of their supporters to act like a Rethug and give Ann Coulter an excuse to rant about how liberals support terrorists.

7. Don't Waste The Sugar, Anyway
why waste good powdered sugar on them when it can be used to make so many yummy sweets?

Send them your toenail clippings. Sure it would be easy to identify the sender, but it's not really a threat, so they probably wouldn't bother. And it's really gross.
