Palin's U.N. Schedule Adds Visit With Colombian President

GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's trip to New York next week will allow her to meet not only with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, but also with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, a campaign aide said Saturday.

And the Alaska governor plans also to meet Tuesday with former secretary of state Henry Kissinger in New York, said the aide, who asked not to be identified.

Foreign leaders will converge on Manhattan next week for the opening of the United Nations General Assembly, offering Palin an opportunity to meet with multiple heads of state on the same day.

Republican presidential nominee John McCain has already met with Uribe this campaign season: The two men came together in July in Cartagena, Colombia.
