U.S. soldier accused of abusing and killing Iraqi
Source: MSNBC/AP

CAMP SPEICHER, Iraq - Military prosecutors accused a U.S. soldier Sunday of taking an Iraqi detainee to a remote desert location, stripping him naked, shooting him in the head and chest and then watching as another soldier set fire to the body with an incendiary grenade.

The allegations were made at the opening hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence against 1st Lt. Michael C. Behenna for a court-martial. He has already been charged with premeditated murder of his prisoner, Ali Mansour Mohammed. Prosecutors also accuse Behenna of trying to cover up the killing.

The key testimony at the hearing came from the only witness, an Iraqi translator identified only as "Harry." He said he saw Behenna shoot Mohammed on May 16 in a tunnel near their forward operating base, Summerall. The base is near Beiji, 155 miles north of Baghdad.

Harry's real name was not revealed to protect his identify. He said Iraqi translators for U.S. forces are at risk of being killed by their countrymen as traitors.

2. Whatever
This is just an Iraqi.

Of course, he must have gone overboard for the military "justice" system to prosecute him. I wonder what the excessive bit that sent it over the line was? I think it was stripping him naked that did it. Murder is OK, so long as you don't see your victim naked before you do it, because that sort of thing needs to be repressed.

3. What about the
Dumb fuck that set the body on fire. Was the guy dead? Even if he was that is still sick to do and he deserves to be punished for that.

4. I spent most of my time in Bayji
was called FOB Lancer then after 3/66 armour. Look up "K2 airfield" on globalsecurity.org or google earth. That is this installation. Was renamed Summerall after a fallen troop.
There is a small road that goes from the village just outside this FOB kinda straight line to the north end of Bayji. The road passes through the railroad grade. ITs the only tunnel I ever saw in that area. I rode a D7G dozer up and over that huge railroad embankment because it was too wide to go through the tunnel. what a ride. Our M916s would fit, if you tucked in the mirrors.

Yes, this is why they hate us. my troops did good work in that area. we tried to do some goodwill work too, but that was really tough in the first year. No one will ever remember that now, just that "we" murdered some poor slob. These maggots should fucking burn. They truly are a disgrace.
Word.

6. Firstly, thanks for your service
Secondly, I noticed that you used the word "troop" in the singular to denote an individual. My grandfather, who was a combat infantryman in two wars, is also an avid crossword puzzler, and he always gets irate whenever he sees "troop" used in the singular to denote a soldier, marine, or airman. Do they actually teach you guys to use it this way now? Has this become accepted practice?

8. Guess his fundi god told him he can go to heaven regardless.
So he could kill all he wanted in the name of the lawd. We need to purge the military of these non-denominational fundies ASAP!!! I've seen it myself, they don't give a rats ass who they put at risk and how shitty they do their job, cuz they is goin to be with jayzus after they die. I wandered into one of those churches in Yuma one time and one of them asked me: Are you ready to die and go to heaven? Luckily I left before even considering to give them money, it was the last time I get tricked into going to a nightclub.
