13. Yes you are wrong. Sorry to say it, but
Obama should be ahead by double digits. What does it have to take for him to gain a substantial lead? It is unbelievable really. All of the headlines on the MSM (shockingly) actually blame McCain square on for the economic meltdown of the country and there are still almost half of the people in the country saying, I want 4 more years of that. Under a democratic candidate's wildest dream, you could not offer any more proof of how bad McCain's policies are.

At the same time, I have spoken to so many people who seem to be following politics, but when I start to tell them about Phil Graham, it is clear that they have no idea of the connection between the current problem and McCain's pick for new Treasury Secretary. Sadly, even if people know the entire connection, it may not change their mind. :wtf:

18. Calm down. No fighting today. Obama is ahead by 4 points and he drew a line in the sand
saying no deal and no blank check to Paulson. McCain is going to be flailing helplessly until the debates and he'll look desperate and hopefully he makes a major gaffe on national TV

20. A very small few (but critical) voters may change their minds on the economic news.
We should get the non-idiots. unfortunately McLame will pick up some from this crises too. But only the truly "though" challenged.

28. Adds up to 17 points.
WHEN Obama has a 17 point lead, I will begin throwing parties. 58% to 41% would do it.

But I still worry about an 11th hours Bush/GOP surprise. My gut says they will find Bin Laden.

15. These are polls, not actual votes.
Taking this stuff too seriously is dangerous, too. The polls were wrong in 2004-they had Kerry up by double digits. If we compare 2008 to 2004, we are just asking to be frustrated.

16. Nah, the polls were pretty much right. Bush 51% Kerry 49%.
It was the EXIT polls that were completely off. Much much less reliable.

The polls right before the election had Bush ahead by a slim margin...and guess what?

19. I think they are planning on an upset
They are starting to hint that McCain will win because of closet racism. That was a big topic this weekend that they kept touting. "you need to erase at least 2-3 point because of the race factor" is what I heard. They are going to throw the election to McCain and are starting to set it up.

9. Hmm.
So when Obama was rising in this poll last week one point a day, that was great news. And when he's sinking this week one point a day, that's also great news.

10. Palin's new car smell...
Palin's new car smell has worn off, only to be replaced with a tacky green deodorizer in the shape of a moose hung from the rear-view mirror.

The crowds coming to see Obama are way bigger than McCain's.

23. Not sure how well you can rely on these polls
Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 03:32 PM by Hellataz
Not sure how well you can rely on these polls, for one reasons they don't reflect electoral votes which is what matters and another reasons, and i'm sad and disgusted to say this but, more people then you realize are saying they'd vote for Obama to be "PC" but in private behind that voters curtain, their racism will get the best of them and they will vote McCain. Not a large percentage but enough, and it's sad that this type of thing is still an issue but it is. So I suggest everyone do what they can to get as many young people registered to vote, not to say there aren't young people with race issues, but not nearly as many as the number in the current "undecided" polls.

I am banking on an influx of new young voters as well as the "novelty of Sarah Palin" wearing thin, remember the only reasons she is drawing crowds is that no one knows shit about this women, and when they find out, it doesn't look good for McCain.
