U.S. soccer team hears Osama chants in Mexico |
|
http://www.azcentral.com/sports/azetc/0206ussoccer.html#The Mexican crowd hooted "The Star-Spangled Banner." It booed U.S. goals. It chanted "Osama! Osama! Osama!" as U.S. players left the field with a 2-0 victory. And that was in a game against Canada on Thursday before just 1,500 people.

44. Mexico is REAL bitter over the US beating them in the World Cup |
|
There's a real rivalry developing between the US and Mexican soccer teams. It's one thing to lose a game to the US in the fairly frequest cross-border "friendlies" between the 2 National Teams.
However, it's a completely different story to lose to the US in the World Cup. They are soooooo pissed. It's their national sport, and here it barely made Sportscenter.

I watched that game and, towards the end when they saw that they wouldn't win, the Mexican team (or at least some members) went out specifically to try to seriously injure American players (who had outplayed them all day). It was low-rent stuff. Here's hoping we kick their asses next time, too.

50. When Kareem Abdul Jabbar's home burnt down. . . |
|
weeks before the NBA basketball playoffs, destroying his extensive Jazz record collection, fans in San Antonio waved record jacket covers at him in an effort to fluster his play and perhaps get him angry enough to effect his performance. I well imagine there was a lot of the same attitude at play here in Mexico. Rather than overt anti-Americanism (which was probably also a factor), the Mexican fans were looking for whatever advantage they could gain for their team.
"This is what it is all about," coach Glenn Myernick said. "You are 90 minutes away from being in the Olympics."
The U.S. team faces Honduras on Saturday in its last first-round game, which will determine if the Americans play Costa Rica or Mexico in the deciding game on Tuesday. While the Americans will surely face a hostile crowd against Costa Rica, a matchup with Mexico would mean a game in front of more than 50,000 hometown fans seeking revenge.
The United States knocked Mexico out of the World Cup in 2002, and Mexican fans will be looking for some retribution if the teams meet in the semifinals.

Being half-Mexican I am deeply ashamed of this.
That country is primarily Catholic and hardly favors any values that radical muslim terrorists like Osama represent.
However, being that it was a soccer game, those familiar with being at a Mexican soccer game should know that they are total freaks most of these people. They make Ranger and Islander games look like a checkers game between two nerd clubs.
Many Mexicans love America (that's why they're always trying to sneak in for one thing) and which is why aside from Bush being ousted, I wish someone over there with a voice would start to encourage them remove that socialist bum Fox who's an immense disgrace on that country.

Seriously I'm no fan of Bush at all, but Osama wants you burnt alive and your wife if you have one, raped and your children converted to Islam or death by incineration.
Bush may be destroying and dividing our country, but he's not trying to that's not his ultimate goal. Bush's ultimate goal is no different than any Benedict Arnold tycoon. Osama's ultimate passion would be to enslave and or murder every American in this country and eventually the world.
Think through statements like this, it's sayings like this that give the Conservative side ammo and it makes their arguments seem credible when they title every liberal as a traitor.
How about we just say, vote out Bush through Dean if necessary, and when we find Osama let's set him free.....with no clothes in the middle of the Puerto Rican section of the South Bronx.

Bush's actions may have resulted in the deaths of civilians like any call for war will do.
But Osama wants YOU killed even if it costs a suicide bomber his/her life. YOU are Osama's target of choice. YOU the free American who has the freedom to be gay, look at porn, watch action movies, eat junk food and worship any religion or be Godless is what Osama feels must be exterminated.
That's the difference and it's a big one between him and Bush. Also don't forget that as radically anti-war as you may be, Bush isn't solely responsible for the war. If you want to blame someone for the war, you got thousands of someones that you must point your finger at other than Bush.

At least not anymore that Bush wants to kill some muslim guy just going to work in Indonesia.
Osama bin Laden targets things like naval vessels, embassies, financial centers and military headquarters.
Which is just the kind of thing that's on our list in Iraq.
Any civilians killed are just collateral damage.
I'll believe Osama hates me for my freedom when he starts bombing gays, porn stores, movie theaters, conveince stores, and churches. And other countries that aren't in Saudi Arabia and Israel.
Really, I see little difference between Bush and Osama. So I'll ask you to explain them.
Yes, there are other people to blame for the war besides Bush.
But then again there are lots of people to blame for 9-11 besides Osama. Like Bush, for example, who we know before hand was told terrorists were going to hijack airplanes and fly them into the WTC and pentagon, yet did nothing about it.

No, it was definitely Bush who is nearly solely responsible for the war. Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Perle and others are also, but, at least to the extent he led his Administration in making calculated, blatant, malicious and unadulterated lies to the American people repeatedly to support his war, a war based on nothing but lies, Bush is almost single-handedly responsible for the war, as that is what his Administration did and was trying to do at any cost.

and Bush is not even being "chased". Bush gets away with it.Bush has shocked and awed thousands of innocent people, as far as we know. He has forbidden anyone to count how many he has murdered, but the best estimates are that he has bombed close to ten thousand of Iraqi. Not to mention how many Afganistan civilians have falled prey to his bombs. (and I might add, OUR bombs, done in OUR name under a maniac president who was never eleceted in the first place.) and he will get away with it.
He WILL get away with it.
For those who are raising children right now--do you ever ask yourself what to teach your children in order that they may prosper and survive? It would seem to me, that there would be a choice. One can emulate the Bush and stomp all over other people and gain riches and wealth and opulence and the good living which we all want for hour children, or one can emphasize the more spiritual aspects of a life, that does not give riches, but nevertheless affords a clear conscience and some amount of serenity.
We are only here for a short time--do we instruct our kids to go for it no matter who they have to stomp over, no matter what lies they have to tell, or what rolls they have to play , and it does not matter how many lies they have to tell, as long as they get the riches and can live like the kings Americans strive to live like? I mean the whole world is their oyster, and success seems to be dependant upon a George Bush, who has millions and millions of dollars and his fat assed dumbassed wife certainly has lived a life of luxury, as will their two heirs, and their heirs.

If he wasn't that ambitious he wouldn't have picked such symbols of our country; the World Trade Centers, and the Pentagon and the White House.
He would've pulled a Japan and gone after a military target if his anger was only about us being in those "peaceful" Arab countries.
If you are one of those that still doesn't believe the attacks were done by him, then deal with the fact that at the very least he claimed responsibility outright for the original attack on the WTC back in 93 I believe it was.
His targets are civilians he PURPOSEFULLY targets civilians he purposefully targeted civilians on that day that he attempted to blow up the WTC.
Do you remember when he said of America "Civilians, women and children are all targets?"

|
I'm not here to argue and justify that the way Bush went about with the Iraq war was right or wrong. If you want to argue than go to some conservative site. Although we destroyed civilian targets bear in mind, one of Saddam's strategies was to hide military targets within civilian buildings knowing full well that America cannot take criticism to innocent loss lightly, so that accounts for certain "civilian buildings" being destroyed.
Secondly if you somehow prove that tv stations and historical places in Iraq were targeted on purpose that's one thing, but I won't believe that our military would choose to destroy civilian buildings believing full well that they were nothing more than civilian buildings.
The Pentagon is not a structure that is equipped to respond to an attack unlike a hardened base or a battleship. It is simply full of both civilian and non-civilian personnel. Technically speaking you could argue that it was a symbol of our government's military tactic planning and so forth, but it's not the same as attempting to blow up the USS Cole.

TV stations are legitimate targets in a military combat because they are communications facilities.
The Pentagon was also a legitimate military target. HOWEVER, the means to attack it was not legit. Hijacking a civilian airliner is the height of terrorism.

In front of the TV, watching the President of the United States read a story about a pet goat.
"If he wasn't that ambitious he wouldn't have picked such symbols of our country; the World Trade Centers, and the Pentagon and the White House."
Are you sure the Republicans didn't pick those targets for him? They're pretty ambitious, too, you konw.
"He would've pulled a Japan and gone after a military target if his anger was only about us being in those "peaceful" Arab countries."
Have you tried attacking a U.S. military target lately? Funny thing is, George Bush has beefed them up until they're almost invincible, leaving terrorists bent on killing Americans little recourse but to target civilians.
"If you are one of those that still doesn't believe the attacks were done by him, then deal with the fact that at the very least he claimed responsibility outright for the original attack on the WTC back in 93 I believe it was."
OK, I'll deal with the fact that Osama claimed responsibility for the original WTC attack.
"His targets are civilians he PURPOSEFULLY targets civilians he purposefully targeted civilians on that day that he attempted to blow up the WTC."
In contrast, we kill civilians only as a form of collateral damage - thounsands upon thousands of them, not to mention the hundreds of thousands we leave homeless.
"Do you remember when he said of America "Civilians, women and children are all targets?"
No, I don't remember that.

I am never going to stand up for what Osama bin Laden does or for the fundamentalist government he desires. Killing innocent people is always wrong. Theocracies of every type are also wrong. What I will say is that it is important to understand WHY he kills innocent people so that we can stop it. Osama bin Laden wants America to get out of Saudi Arabia and to stop supporting the opression of Palestinians. By towing Bush's "he hates freedom" line you're only enabling the utterly ineffective, and indeed counter-productive response to bin Laden that Bush has chosen. You're enabling Bush to ignore the real root of them problem; therefore I think it's fair to say that this kind of thinking will only create more terrorism. See: 500 deaths in Iraq.

You can research and try to understand "why" Osama may want us dead, but the fact is he wants us dead and nothing is going to change his mind.
If you're being attacked by a rapist do you try to stop and think why you're being targeted?
At the same time you don't go off and kill everyone who looks like a potential rapist I understand that.
But Bin Laden has proven without a doubt that he hates us and wants us dead. He doesn't care how many books on Islam you purchase at Barnes and Noble, he doesn't care about how much you hate Bush, he doesn't care about your sympathy for the Palestinians, he has clearly stated that it is his wish to see America burn, and that includes you.
When he ordered the bomb planted inside the WTC way before 9-11 do you think he was concerned with the children in the day care centers? the civilians inside just doing their jobs? do you think he even cared that aside from the many nationalities of those he was going to kill or maim that many of them were actually of Arab descent?
The root of the problem started the minute we started doing business with these terrorist sponsoring countries such as Saudia Arabia, then through events we wound up pissing them off. We can't overturn that overnight. It's one of the reasons I support Kerry, because he's the only one who has plans to pull us out of dependency for Arab oil within 10 years.
The issue with Isreal and Palestine I'm not even going to touch because there's too many different sides "facts" and opinions and none of them seem to come from people who actually lived further east than Maine.

32. Do you realize what you wrote??? |
|
You said, "You need some serious help if the murderer of thousands of Americans is your hero."
Mr. Lost: I very clearly stated that George W. Bush would be LAST on my list, not FIRST. Please read my posts more carefully.

34. Well when you say last on your list... |
|
It sounds like you're saying last as in Bush would be your last choice signifying that Osama would be higher up in your choosings than Bush.
Apologies for misunderstandings.

That's what I was talking about in my previous message. Even at a young age I knew helping that bastard out would mean curtains in the long run.

Throughout the world. But BFEE has managed to turn that around in two short years. Amazing work.
