I was hoping he was going to be smarter than that!!! Or perhaps The Edge smacked him a good one and brought him to his senses.
I figured that Palin would want to compare her specks to his!

Last night they discussed that Bono isn't media shy and the silver lining to Palin meeting Bono was that reporters could probably easily get an interview with Bono and discuss Palin.

11. That last sentence is a doozy. |
|
"Unlike McCain and Palin’s other meetings with dignitaries in New York this week, most of which had been open to reporters and photographers, the Bono meeting was listed as closed to the press, at the rock star’s request."
What utter bullshit. I wonder how long it will be before we find out that it wasn't Bono's request that the event be closed to the press.

They are so busy with economic crisis and impending depression scare tactics that they want to cancel the debates Friday, but they have time to chat with Bono? McLame will not speak to the American public on Friday, but he's making time for Bono? WTF is going on?

I am sorry...I used to be a huge U2 fan but Bono as a policy expert on anything is a bit much, esp since the hypocrite moved his own holdings out of Ireland so HE wouldn't have to pay Irish taxes.

33. Love and Peace or else...lyrics |
|
Lay down Lay down Lay your sweet lovely on the ground Lay your love on the track We're gonna break the monster's back Yes we are... Lay down your treasure Lay it down now brother You don't have time For a jealous lover
As you enter this life I pray you depart With a wrinkled face And a brand new heart
I don't know if I can take it I'm not easy on my knees Here's my heart you can break it
I need some release, release, release
We need Love and peace Love and peace
Lay down Lay down your guns All your daughters of Zion All your Abraham sons
I don't know if I can make it I'm not easy on my knees Here's my heart and you can break it I need some release, release, release
We need Love and peace Love and peace
Baby don't fight We can talk this thing through It's not a big problem It's just me and you You can call or I'll phone The TV is still on But the sound is turned down And the troops on the ground Are about to dig in
And I wonder where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Love and peace

37. He took the meeting, he's taking the call... |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 10:59 AM by Bluenorthwest
Bono's praise of Bush, not to mention Santorum and the rest, left me unable to listen to his product, music to my ears no more. Product of the most calculated type. This pr wiz Bono just saw the writing on the wall, and knew he could not keep cashing in with many if he did the photo ops with Palin like he did with Bush and Santorum and all of that. He saw it would cost him image points and money, so he pulled out. Monday he was willing to take that meeting, and that says what needs to be said about Bono. Bono on Bush: "I think he has done an incredible job, his administration, on AIDS."
Bono on Santorum: "I would suggest that Rick Santorum has a kind of Tourette's disease; he will always say the most unpopular thing. But on our issues, he has been a defender of the most vulnerable." Santorum for the forgetful: "If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything." Bono's denfending this guy for saying 'unpopular things'. Santorum is not talking about marriage equaity, but about the private lives of Americans at home. "unpopular" is a spin that makes me vomit. Bono is an apologist for the worst of the worst, for haters and open bigots.

39. Bono collaborates with the enemy again |
|
I don't care what your cause it, you don't save the world by making deals with the devil. The way he constantly paled around with Bush, Helms, Santorum and others and praised them did nothing more than earn the scorn of his fellow artist peers. His meeting with Mcpalin is completely useless because he's making it out like they are legitimate world leaders which they are not. It's more for appeasing his massive ego than actually doing good for world poverty. Other activists know better that you're much better off dealing with the private sector and the European union who have done a great deal more. By collaborating with the swine of America you only legitimize what they stand for.
