Angry Constituents Clogging Up Inboxes
Source: Congressional Quarterly

It's no secret that Americans are up in arms over proposals for a $700 billion financial industry bailout, and they are letting Congress know about their dissatisfaction -- in spades.

An e-mail sent in the pre-dawn hours Friday by House administrators said the computer system was straining to keep up with a tremendous volume of incoming electronic traffic.

"Engineers have verified that unusually high traffic as a result of write your representative e-mail coming via member web sites is the cause of slow response" in the computer system, a note from the chief administrative officer's staff said.

Members across the political spectrum report heavy e-mail traffic from upset constituents. ...

2. Keep slamming their inboxes
and demand more details. If we are being saddled with this debt that is not ours, then they owe us the information. We need to keep pushing them to do what is in our best interests not the bankers' best interests and not Paulson's best interest. Don't give up. Fight to the end or we'll be screwed.

10. If flooding their inboxes isn't enough
and clogging the switchboards isn't enough

I don't know how we are supposed to reach them. Do we have to start dying of starvation and exposure to the elements on their front lawns? I'm sad to say, I don't think they would get it even if that happened. Time to take politics out of the hands of the elite. They are too out of touch to make decisions for real people. :(

12. I've done that too
They don't want to listen. They know their inboxes are flooded and where the people stand on this issue. They have the power to burden us with even more massive debt and we can scream until we pass out. They will move on in any direction they want.

And we gotta keep on keeping on, including this weekend.
Send those addresses to friends, ask them to x 3 to their friends, etc.
I have sent about 20 e-mails just today.

Sometimes the Congress critter's web page won't let you send unless you are in their state.
Google is great for getting a local address.

19. Chinese regulators have told
their banks not to provide any loans to the US. Interenstingly, last week Dick Cheney told the EU and other contries in that region not to do business with Russia.

There are some problems but I'm sure there are many smart people who can come up with a much better plan than the bush administration....

The republicans are cruel to the American People... This bailout excercise is a clear example imo...
