The District of Columbia (Washington DC)

2-Month-Old Girl Dies in Northeast

A 2-month-old girl died yesterday in Northeast Washington, authorities said. The cause of death was unclear.

D.C. police said officers and emergency workers responded to a report shortly after 2:30 p.m. of an unconscious infant at a home in the 1700 block of West Virginia Avenue NE. They found an unresponsive girl, who was taken to Children's Hospital, police said. She was pronounced dead late yesterday afternoon, officials said.

A police official said there were signs of possible trauma to the child and that the case was being investigated by the department's special victims unit.

1. What does George Bush have to do with it?
Not that I like the man, or don't think he's scum, but people have been beating their children to death for eons. This is nothing new.

2. bush* has cut massive amounts out of social programs that
could support these people...

here in the DC Metro area, the total bush* program of cutting out welfare payments, food to mothers/babies, medical services, mental health and family counseling services, assistance to families needing housing, food, clothes, jobs,...including the extreme challenges of obtaining abortions...resulting in unwanted and unable to care for children, who DIE within a few months or years of a miserable horror....

the bush* deliberate cuts have weighed heavily on the most vulnerable around us...

it's the reality in AmeriKKKa today, that nobody stands up to bush* and DEMANDS care for the children that are KILLED and neglected by bush* social policies....

I posted THREE today, to wake up some people....and that's just in DC, wonder how many children were KILLED in some other areas of the country???? due to shrub's social programs...including shrubs NO JOB recovery....

3. Remember
It was Clinton who signed the Welfare Reform Act.

Besides, how do you know these folks are on public assistance? Maybe they were middle-class folks who just got tired of the baby crying or ruining their sleep the night before a big legal case?

5. everyone had JOBS under Clinton, and there was healthcare,

'folks who just got tired of the baby crying' shows an incredible 'lack of awareness' and failure-to-comprehend' that bush* cuts in social programs mean children DIE and are KILLED....

8. What is this Camelot you speak of?
Do you live in an alternate reality where Clinton was the white knight of liberalism? Face it, Clinton compromised on every issue (via triangulation) and unwittingly paved the way for the extremists to take charge.

Yeah, the average man benefitted from Clinton's Drug War, Welfare Reform, and NAFTA.

4. Reminds one of the bang-up job Jeb Bush is doing in Florida
A quick grab from google:

(snip)DEPT. CHILDREN & FAMILIES
Unable to find Rilya Wilson and unwilling to fund Florida’s social services, Gov. Bush wants to wash his hands of the matter by privatizing and dismantling nearly the entire department:

• transferring child welfare services to locally run nonprofit agencies serving each of the state’s 67 counties by the end of June 2004;

• transferring abuse investigations to sheriff’s departments;

• programs for the mentally ill, cystic fibrosis and people with substance abuse problems would move to Department of Health;

• regulating child-care facilities would fall to the Agency for Workforce Innovation;

• private companies would overseeing state-federal payments of welfare reform funds;

• eliminate the department’s child welfare lawyers who serve as legal advocates for youths in crisis;

• centralizing administrative responsibilities now being handled in the Department of Children & Families’ 14 districts; and

• cutting the department’s 25,000 employees by 25 to 50 percent.

DCF Secretary Jerry Regier came to Florida with much fanfare to save the beleaguered department, but learned that Gov. Bush has no intention of fully funding social services: the governor’s budget asks for less than half of what Regier recommended. (snip/...)

9. You do not believe Bush is causing big problems in the world?
And you go around DU quoting Faux, cheerleading the economy and jobs? It is getting harder to believe there are people who still believe in all that propaganda. If you want hate, you need to go to forums for the right. The forums on the left are determined, we do not waste our time on hate.

10. You've got to be kidding
A baby died. No cause of death has been determined. There was "possible" trauma. No one was found guilty or has even been accused of anything. From these facts you manage to extrapolate blame for George W. Bush for the death of this child? That's some leap. Carl Lewis would stand in awe. Are you certain that the Queen of England's drug cartel didn't somehow cause the girl to fall out of her crib and die? That conclusion would be about as logical.
