Alaska investigator to release Troopergate report (Monday night)

A report detailing whether Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power by firing her public safety commissioner will be released on the eve of the election.

Timothy Petumenos, an independent investigator hired by the Alaska Personnel Board, says he will release the report during a news conference 7:30 p.m. EST Monday.

UPDATE #2, 1:45 p.m.: Investigator Tim Petumenos just said he will release his troopergate report at 3:30 p.m. today.

He said the report would cover Gov. Sarah Palin's firing of Walt Monegan as well as a separate complaint from Anchorage activist Andree McLeod alleging alleges that state hiring practices were circumvented for a Palin supporter.

UPDATE #1: There's an excruciating wait as we listen to a union rep talk about a proposed change to state nepotism rules. (Totally unrelated to Palin.)

Petumenos has two staff members with him, and each has a thick, yellow-bound document on their lap. I should note that when I called Personnel Board chair Debra English before the meeting to ask about the Palin investigation, she didn't say anything but recommended showing up.

found innocent in abusing her powers, just in from Alaska. If this is the Personnel Board, it explains the verdict. Of course, Lou didn't say which one it was.
