Palin: 'Cannot even imagine' 2012 bid
Source: CNN

(CNN) -- Hours after John McCain and Sarah Palin conceded defeat to Barack Obama, the Alaska governor told CNN she can't imagine running for the top job herself in 2012.

"Right now I cannot even imagine running for national office in 2012," she told CNN's Dana Bash. "When I say that, of course, coming on the heels of an outcome that I did not anticipate and had not hoped for. But this being a chapter now that is closed and realizing that it is a time to unite and all Americans need to get together and help with this new administration being ushered in."

...

"2012 sounds so far off that can't even imagine what I'd be doing then," Palin also said.

Palin also denied the suggestion her presence on the GOP ticket contributed to Obama's electoral landslide victory.

"I don't think anybody should give Sarah Palin that much credit, that I would trump an economic time in this nation that occurred about two months ago, that my presence on the ticket would trump the economic crisis that America found itself in a couple of months ago and attribute John McCain's loss to me," she said.

"Now having said that, if I cost John McCain even one vote, I am sorry about that because John McCain, I believe, is the American hero. I had believed it was his time," she added.

1. According to Sarah Palin,
...Obama is "palling around with terrorists," but "all Americans need to get together and help with this new administration being ushered in."

6. Oh, she's a uniter, all right
Okay three of us agree that Palin should scuttle back to Alaska and never be heard from again. And doesn't the Bible say where two or three of you agree on anything, it shall be so? Sarah, are you familiar with that verse from Matthew?

39. You noticed that too. I thought I was hearing things.
She needs to see a qualified therapist ASAP who might be able to help her figure out who the real Sarah Palin is.

Yowza!!! Hold onto your seatbelts. LOL

4. I asked my friend last night (who thinks she's pretty and shouldn't be blamed),
so don't you think that if she had really cared about the GOP and the country, that if she was smart enough to understand she was unqualified, she should have made that clear the very first time McCain approached her? So how can anyone now look back at his campaign, knowing the role she played in scuttling it, and feel sorry for her?

On top of that, she's going back to her millions and private plane, country home, etc. Don't feel sorry for Sarah Palin. She's going to be just fine.

8. "When I say that, of course, coming on the heels of an outcome that I did not anticipate "
How on earth did she fail to anticipate her highly anticipated defeat? I think that says it all, in terms of her ability to lead.

9. whatever she does with the rest of her life.....
.... she should learn how to speak.

"When I say that, of course, coming on the heels of an outcome that I did not anticipate and had not hoped for. But this being a chapter now that is closed and realizing that it is a time to unite and all Americans need to get together and help with this new administration being ushered in."

Good lord, a 7-year-old is more coherent than that.

15. THIS BITCH IS ON MY POLITICAL HIT LIST...
...for 2010. We need to SO take her out it's not even funny!

I'm developing my short list of republicans to destroy before 2010, including any republican piece of crap who tries to blame President Obama for all of the economic problems that he has inherited from republicans.

Palin, Jindal, Huckabee, Romney for starters...I want them ALL destroyed by 2010, preferably through the ballot box or through press dis-creditability, but I will take any other (legal) method...

18. I dream of her running for president in 2012; don't understand what other responders are thinking
She would unite the Republican holy roller base-- and alienate everybody else. It would be a landslide of gargantuan, even mythic proportions. It would be the ultimate end of the Republican Party as a force in American politics. I live, I dream to see the day. Hey Sarah! We'll even throw in Joe Lieberman as your running mate!

(On the other hand, I sure bet Tina Fey is relieved.)

20. I've heard some talk she'll take Stevens senate seat when he resigns...
then we'd have her in the national spotlight for 6 years to ridicule and dog her as the "future of the Republican party"

that could be politically useful.

29. Could she have been that insulated and delusional
"When I say that, of course, coming on the heels of an outcome that I did not anticipate and had not hoped for. But this being a chapter now that is closed and realizing that it is a time to unite and all Americans need to get together and help with this new administration being ushered in."

Maybe she is just spewing her usual lies, but I tend to think defeat came as a surprise. God's will and all behind her of course. If so, then she is likely undergoing a severe crisis of confidence that can only be intensified as all the blow-back unloads. Many scores to settle including those who had to stomach her up close and personal for the past 8 weeks, and those with a vested interest in terminating her political career sooner rather than later. Beautiful.

30. She believed
that God was orchestrating the events in her life. I suggested before that if she lost she might have to do some soul searching on her belief system. You can expect to hear some news about depression rearing its head again in the near future concerning her mental well being. She may not recover from this emotionally.

33. sure but
she had hoped to win -- sure. that makes sense.

but when she says she did not anticipate the outcome that means she's saying she had no idea that not winning was even a possibility. one party was going to lose the election -- obviously -- yet she acts like she did not understand that.

moran.

"Dear Serra,

so they look legit

A Palin run in 2012, besides being comedy gold, would create a civil war in the GOP primaries.
The Freepers and Dobsonites adore her, but the establishment loathes her and blames her for the loss.

41. According to Buchanan, she is the party hopeful for 2012. He said he
would encourage her to go back to Alaska and use these next
4 years to prepare herself for that position. I took it
like she plans on snaging that senate seat that Stevens
gets removed from. Several Repugs said she rallied the base
like no other..she has a promising future in 2012 and beyond.
