Reichert edges ahead (WA-8 vs Darcy Burner)
Source: Seattle Times

Republican U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert edged into the lead over his Democratic challenger early this morning as Pierce and King counties continued to count votes in the 8th Congressional District.

Burner held a wide lead over Reichert in early absentee votes, but as more poll votes were counted, the advantage shifted. Early this morning, Reichert led by just over 1,100 votes.

There are still many more votes to count in the close rematch between the two candidates in the 8th, which includes parts of Eastern King and Pierce counties.

No Democrat has been elected since the district was formed in the 1980s, but it is growing increasingly liberal and voted for Democrats for president in 2004 and 2000.

Not good news at all.

Here's hoping the pile of yet to be counted ballots have many D's in them.

5. Yeah, some REAL disappointments: Bachman, Coleman, McConnel, and this one...
...it really wasn't the blowout I'd hope for.

Very irksome.

7. But Perriello, arguably the most progressive, won in Virginia.
Makes you think twice about conventional wisdom that always says play to the center-right.

And don't count Franken out yet.
