Sources - McCain Aide Fired for "Trashing Staff"
Source: CNN

(CNN) — Randy Scheunemann, a senior foreign policy adviser to John McCain, was fired from the Arizona senator's campaign last week for what one aide called "trashing" the campaign staff, three senior McCain advisers tell CNN.

One of the aides tells CNN that campaign manager Rick Davis fired Scheunemann after determining that he had been in direct contact with journalists spreading "disinformation" about campaign aides, including Nicolle Wallace and other officials.

"He was positioning himself with Palin at the expense of John McCain's campaign message," said one of the aides.

Senior campaign officials blame Schuenemann specifically for stories about the way Wallace and chief campaign strategist Steve Schmidt mishandled Palin's rollout — stories that the campaign says threw them off message in the critical final weeks of the campaign.

1. Beautiful.
Scheunemann is a complete shithead, RW neocon fascist. And apparantly a Palin booster.

4. We better hope Palin never, ever becomes president!
She would be even more of a puppet of the neocons than GWB!

9. Palin is done. She will never be seen on the national stage again
and that will be guaranteed by the folks who brought her to the national stage to begin with. They've already started the process today. It will continue. She will never darken our door again.

6. Yes, he did. Want to know more?
Yes, he very much did have a hand in that. Scheunemann was a lobbyist for the government advising them during the time of Georgia's conflict with its breakaway republic; per articles I read around the time of the Russian invasion. That invasion was in response to the Georgian government attacking the region of South Ossetia when it tried to breakaway. Scheunemann was involved, apparently, in the strategizing, and may have even been a conduit for others (but that's just my supposition). What you also should know is that Scheunemann is an American Enterprise Institute guy. If McCain had become president, Scheunemann would have been in line for a key foreign policy post. Do not forget the name Scheunemann. He is more than just one more campaign aide. His firing is but a minor bump in the road; actually it neatly distances him from the failed McCain campaign. As a neocon heavy, he will pop up again, possibly as Palin's foreign policy expert in a run for the WH in 2012. But a guy like this will find ways to make himself useful to the cause before that, if not make a bundle during the downtime before the next primary season.

8. Very interesting. Welcome to DU!
Scheunemann may have made a strategical mistake hitching his wagon to Palin's falling star, though.

11. Palin was Kristol's choice. She's the perfect tool for the neocons:
perky, attractive, stupid and power hungry.
